The ambience, feel of staying in a Chinese old cultural setting. Mr Wang, jiuan is very helpful, always cheerful and quick to respond to queries. Very impressed. The breakfast is very substantial and good.

The service exceeded expectations. The room was very well designed, with a great view and had thoughtful amenities like bathrobes and tea. Location was very hard to find but once I called the manager he came to pick us up immediately. He also helped with food recommendations and ordering taxi to the train station. Any question or need was addressed quickly on WeChat. We really liked the manager, he was very polite, approachable and helpful. Thank you so much!

It’s clean and close to the South Gate of Dali ancient town. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The owner meet us at the car that picked us up from the airport and helped us with our luggages and again when we leave for the train station. I will stay here again next time I’m in Dali.

Our stay at Z. Garden Hotel was truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making communication effortless as he spoke English—something quite rare in China. The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with all the amenities we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. A special touch that warmed our hearts was when the host kindly offered to wash and hang our clothes at no extra charge. The location was another highlight—perfectly walkable to many attractions and just steps away from a variety of restaurants. We also encountered difficulty purchasing train tickets via Trip.com, but the host went above and beyond by helping us secure them through a Chinese app. An added bonus was the pool table available for guests, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Lastly, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Wang and the kind lady who assisted us throughout our stay. Their hospitality was truly outstanding, and we are certain we’ll return one day. Highly recommended!

Great location. Walking distance to Dali ancient town with lots of eateries around. Great host - he greeted us when the taxi arrived and helped transfer our luggage to the lodging and our room. He also bought us breakfast and hung it outside our door when he found out that we had to check out at 6am to catch the train. The room was also spacious and comfortable! It was an enjoyable stay.

We thought the water pressure and heating for the water wasn't a little weak but other than that the stay was comfortable.

The place is an excellent location and the rooms were clean and great! Big space and amenities were as described. We had a great host Jiuan Chan who took care of us very well and was informative about places to eat and what to do in the area.

The sound insulation could have been better

They made extra effort to reach out to their guests (Eg. prepared nice and cozy breakfast) to make us feel at home. The room is very spacious and clean and the place is easy to access to food areas and the Dali Market.

Everything about the stay and services are top-notch. Mr.Wang speaks good English and that is a plus point for foreigners. The accommodation is not accessible by car so once we reached there, the driver called Mr. Wang and he waited for us at the agreed spot. Mr. Wang also accompanied us when we waited for our driver back to Dali Railway staion. So kind and helpful of him. The stay is very conveniently located next to the heart of the ancient town.

The hotel is amazing! We stayed in the room with two bedrooms and it was sooo comfortable, with plenty of space for the whole family! The heating was very good and the beds so comfortable! The free breakfast was with local food and Changed everyday but they had vegetarian options and it was good. The host speak really good English and it was so kind! He helped us with everything, including things to do and places for running! He also offered us a free pick up from the train station since we booked for three nights! We loved everything in our stay

This tranquil boutique hotel is located in a quiet alley in a very convenient part of town (within walking distance to the ancient city area). The courtyard is airy, full of plants, and gave the whole environment a very peaceful feeling. The room is large, clean, and comfortable. The availability of a washing machine (for free) to wash our clothes was a nice bonus. Most importantly, the hotel's staff was incredible. The hotel's owner drove me to the hospital when I started to feel sick, and he stayed with me for two hours to help coordinate the care that I needed. I recommend this hotel 100%!

Highly recommend staying at Z. Garden if you’re visiting Dali. We were well taken care of by our host, Xiao Chen who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Z. Garden is near Dali ancient city (abt 15 min walk) and other famous attractions such as the 3 pagodas (15 min drive). It’s accessible and the property was clean, neat and cosy.

Tucked away in a quiet corner along the Main Street leading up to Dali Old town it’s a very convenient location away from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street. The room was very comfortable and had high ceilings which made the room feel larger. The breakfast was very enjoyable and the complimentary fruit tea was a nice addition.

Z Garden was perfect for our stay in Dali. The rooms are huge and very comfortable with massive windows and lovely bathrooms. The location is great, very near the old town, restaurants and coffee shops but down a side street away from the craziness. And the staff are so so helpful, they will help you with whatever you need and will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. And a delicious free breakfast 10/10.
