How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The WiFi was not working very well and in the early morning you heard the people going upstairs to the terrace.
You have a great view over the city from the terrace. The hostel is nice and not too big. There are several single bathrooms, so you don't have to share the shower while you are in.

Our room is was very small and the room/hostel were quite cold.
The views from the rooftop were fabulous. The open fire inside and outside was a nice touch and needed given that the hostel was quite cold. The breakfast was also amazing!

Our room (private with our own bathroom) was really cold ( stayed hier 20th of august). There was a mini- Heather in the room, but this was really not enough. The bed is small and the matress was not the best. The bathroom was really small and humid, although there was hot water in the shower.
The hostel had a Nice terrace with a view over the city. Great location in la Candelaria. Friendly, helpfull staff.

the structure need a little bit of update. the room are cold and there is no hot water.

super loud party bar right next to the rooms, more suitable for people traveling with that purpose. we needed to rest in quite and sleep well, not so much for that purpose

the private rooms was right next to the bar, with a door to the terrace that you couldn’t close. Music till 2 am and starting again at 8am. the room also smelled like mold
very friendly staff, nice private rooms and the place itself looks beautiful.

Room wasn't clean, lots of hair even on the bed (which suggests that the bed linen wasn't cleaned/changed. No proper heating in the room, which was annoying since Bogotà was quite cold when I arrived.
Very beautiful hostel, colonial style even in the double room i stayed in. Also very green and an oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city.

Perhaps it was my fault, but I was expecting something else from this property from the description. I read there was yoga on the roof every morning and there were gardens, which made me imagine somewhere tranquil. Sadly they no longer have yoga lessons (even though they're still posting photos) and they play loud music every day until late into the night. Because the rooms are quite rustic - e.g. the door and windows have significant gaps around them - you can't block out the sound. Also the wifi doesn't reach the garden rooms (although this isn't a big issue as you can connect when in the reception and adjoining rooms). If you're looking for a typical hostel in a great location though, then this is what you'll find!

Such a nice and cosy vibe. The staff is amazing and really friendly. They will help you with everything you need. For example I needed to go to the police station: she called them for me, gave me the address etc.

Amazing atmosphere, lovely roof terrace with great view, beautiful little yard and the staff is super nice. Also had some amazing free salsa lessons there. loved that.

The music was so loud but its part of the culture I guess. Even if it were only 3 people at the bar they had to shout because of the volume of the music. There is no window to open in the big room.

Great hostel in the middle of Candelaria with a very chilled and relaxed vibe! Great for connecting with other travelers as well as to have some relaxing time on the rooftop terrace overlooking the city of Bogota! The team is very thoughtful and always eager to help you out with everything you need. Can highly recommend!

it was quite cold in the hostel as there were no heaters. the kitchen facilities were limited.
