How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The wifi didn’t reach the room we were in
The hostel had a beautiful view. It is very central and close to everything. Very sociable vibe, the workers are very friendly and get everyone included in activities together.

It would be nice to have a spigot for potable water or a fountain to fill bottles so I can use my steripen
It was a beautiful place to stay! The staff was absolutely fantastic, great morning views with the coffee, friendly cliental, and close to the town square.

Only two minor comments - you only had to pay 5000 pesos as a one off payment to refill your water bottles and the staff filled up our bottles whenever we wanted to. It’s only a small amount but could it be free and easy for guests to fill up themselves? - there was a table and chairs on the balcony but they weren’t super comfortable. As the balcony is covered it would be great to have a deckchair or a more comfortable chair out there so you can relax for longer
This hostel was incredible. We stayed in a private room with a Mountain View and it felt like a fancy hotel. The room was big, super comfortable, lots of storage, hot water, a tv and a private balcony with an incredible view. The building itself it lovely too. All the staff were so friendly - shout out to Mari, Helena and all the team.

The hostel has a beautiful view outside the bedrooms, with the 8 bed feeling big enough to unpack and private with a seperate bathroom and shower. The staff is super friendly including the doggies and always up for giving recommendations on tours and places to eat. It was a lovely stay

The accommodation has everything you need. A cafe, a restaurant, a nice view and comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend it. A lot of activities they offer and wheee you can take part for free, so it’s perfect for socialising.

The water to refill ur bottle could be for free.
I like that it’s pretty social and there are a lot of activities u can join and / or book.

The staff made everyone feel welcome from the start and were always available to help with anything. The atmosphere was incredible with a good balance of quiet yet still social. Alessia's amazing energy took the evenings at the bar from great to incredible.

Dogs do expect a couple of fries here and there.
Lovely staff who aim to make you feel at home at all times. The facilities including rooms are everything you'd ask for. The location is right in the centre of salento, although the town is so small it doesn't really matter. Lovely dogs that are super friendly.

The wifi sometimes went away, and did not work in my room. But it was the least of a problem
The vibe of the hostel is amazing! Everyday there are activities in the evening and most participate! The rooms (shared dorms) are okay, everything you need is there. Also the view from the garden is amazing!

I was ok with my bed but another traveller I met mentioned that some dorms were windowless, there are basement rooms as well which gets stuffy
Nice peaceful view at night. Social hostel. Hostel would have activities but not crazy party so that was nice.

Amazing place in Salento I stayed 3 nights in the Hostel. The staff is really helpful. Above all Juli was really nice. She is organizing lots of activities in the hostel. I recommend this hostel :)

This is the third Viajero I’ve been to, and the facilities, ambiance and staff were exceptional as always. I missed my bus transfer, and reception was incredibly helpful pushing my reservation back, which I greatly appreciated.

The breakfast could’ve been a little better but still pleasant. Also they blast music until late in the evening which can get annoying if you are trying to have an early night.
We enjoyed the view from our balcony, the friendly staff, and all of the free activities the hostel had offered .
