Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainOnly there were ants in the kitchen so keep your food in the fridge. My room the second night was very hot, no air conditioning so if that is hard for you, spend more and get a room that has it.
Everything was fine, no big complaints, just a few small details. The staff were great, very helpful and met some great people. Their desert tour was great, super interesting, excellent guide, very good price. Definitely I can recommend this hostel

GermanyThe communal spaces right next to my room. It is a hostel though so it was fine.
Excellent value for money. Well organised with laundry facilities, a kitchen, communal spaces, free coffee, snd an excellent discount on the desert tour if you are staying there. Esay to get to and from. Really cheerful communal spaces and a safe normal residential of town. The tour of the Tatacoa is excellent value for money too. It is a hostel and it is simple but well worth what you pay. Drinks and beers available too and breakfast. Really great.

CanadaExcellent hostel! The staff was great and very helpful, our private twin room was specious enough and we had two quality nights of sleep. The kitchen is good enough to be able to cook pretty much whatever you want. There’s free coffee in the morning too. The property is big enough for multiple nice common rooms, and there’s a little outside areas for smokers. We also had what I thought was an excellent deal for our room, so the value we got for our stay really exceeded our expectation. I’m assuming a few people would like to know: the hostel is about 6-7km from the bus station, and is situated in a residential area. The taxi cost around 15000Cop from the station to the hostel. All the taxis were waiting outside and used meters. I also believe a lot of people comes to Neiva to do the Tatacoa desert. The hostel offers a tour for 160000Cop with transport door to door, a guide, a small boat tour, visits to two deserts and lunch included. We enjoyed our tour, and some of the scenery were breathtaking!

IrelandRoom was attached to the communal area/corridor and there was some guests hanging out there late at night or early in the morning and it would be very noisy right outside your door. Reception desk right there, but nothing done to control noise.
Booked this hostel for their desert tour. All went well. Private room with air con which worked well and kept us cool. Can use kitchen which was well equipped.

United KingdomThe hostel is relatively far out of the center of Neiva, and even though it's walkable (~25 minutes) it's not the nicest walk so I'd recommend to take a taxi. Also, as is typical in the region cause it's so hot, the showers only have one temperature (lukewarm) rather than a mixer.
The staff is absolutely wonderful (special shout-out to Ana Maria) and very helpful. The hostel is very economical and clean, and the rooms and a good size. Every day there is a tour to the Tatacoa desert, which is the main nearby attraction.

GermanyTowels would have been a nice addition. Neiva itself was a bit sketchy but it is still definetly worth going there for the desert tour.
The beds were comfortable. Each bed had plugs but no curtains or lights. The kitchen was well equipped. A cheap breakfast could be provided. The desert tour is sooo great and definetly worth the money. The staff was lovely. The room had AC.

GermanyThe location is maybe not entirely ideal as it is a bit far from the Center but close to the airport and by no means it’s a bad location!
The Tatacoa tour was incredible! Very knowledgeable guide, beautiful spots and stops beyond the red and white desert. Extremely good value for money as it lasted the entire day including lunch and we were then dropped off in Villavieja for our second night. Also the staff in general was super friendly and helpful.
