ArubaThe hotel has 2 pool areas, but the one in the back was closed. The maintenance man told us that it is only open on the weekend. I was disappointed because I loved that pool where I could see the view of La Piedra del Penol. I wish I had known that before, so I could stay on the weekend and not during the week.
This was the second time staying at this hotel. The hotel has a good location, close to "La Piedra del Penol", and it is easy to get a TukTuk during the day. Breakfast is included and it makes it easier for us. The room is spacious and there is hot water in the shower.

United StatesThere were a few staff members who were not as kind as the others. Our interactions with them left a sour taste. We would be reluctant to stay again because of this.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in that it felt like a resort. The reception staff were very helpful, kind, and patient as we did not speak much Spanish. The breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the spa. The location was gorgeous and a walk away from El Penol.

United Arab EmiratesThe food was ok. The kids meals seemed more appetizing than the buffet that was provided. The rooms are outdated and the hot water was not very hot. The jacuzzi that we paid extra for never got warm. And the mattress need immediate updating. It bowed in the middle.

United KingdomThe check in was agonizingly slow. It took ages for photocopies of passports to be made, constant checking and consulting with other check in staff. It took 3 people to check us in. It wasn't until a supervisor (I am assuming she was a supervisor as she seemed to take control) stepped in that things began to move. It took well over half an hour to check in for a one night stay. And the hotel was not busy at all as we stayed mid week. It really doesn't create a good impression for tourists. The staff themselves were polite and nice, but they really need much, much better training.
Great lake view from the room (we paid for an upgrade), large comfortable and spacious room. The bed was super sized and very comfortable. Everything worked in the room. We enjoyed our lunches by the pool. Quick service and really tasty local snacks and sauces.

CanadaIt was hard to get to la piedra, which is a short walk away. The road outside the hotel is very busy and there are no sidewalks. We found this to be the most challenging part, we felt very uncomfortable walking along the busy road.
It had very nice amenities and views. It was easy to access Guatapé and la piedra but if you wished you could stay on property the whole time and have everything you needed.

United StatesUpcharged to pay full price for boat ride even when I messaged the manager to get the prepay rate as listed on thier website. The manger knew I can only get the discount if I prepay but didnt give me the option or think I knew about it. I was told to do when we arrive. Found out I can do it on thier website in fact. The brand chain agent on the whatsapp didnt charge me properly for the birthday room suprise and the Yachet ticket and added a additional balence saying I cant apply the guest rate for the boat ticket it the same day we check in. I wanted us to get on the boat for her Wednesday birthday suprise and then check in the room. The front desk agents still asked about the remaining amount even after stating to apply it to Saturday(We checked in on Wednesday). As I didnt want my girlfriend to know about her suprise I couldnt have her translate the issue for me. Its terrible I paid for the best second tier room with the two meal plans added and they didn't respect honoring the 30% discount nor had disclaimers on when or how to use it. Hence,I didnt have us use the other services (Massage,Coptor ride) to give more of my business to them. I wouldve canceled my stay if this wasnt for my girlfriend.

United StatesA silly rule about the card towels, that says that if we lost one card will be charge 82 thousand pesos. Fortunately we found the card, otherwise, they would have charged us the 82k pesos. This is the first time I encountered this kind of unfair and rude policy. Hopefully, they remove it for the comfort and convenience of the visitors!
