Our room was one of two positioned behind the kitchen used by all guests. It was open from 7am until 11pm. Unfortunately this meant that all noise from talking, music, moving chairs around, etc was CLEARLY heard from our room. This could have easily been mitigated by 1) fixing the door behind the kitchen to close properly as the latch was not there allowing the door to swing open 2) install a solid core door instead of the cheap hollow core closet door to our room and reduce the large gap at the bottom to the floor.

Perfect location, the employees are super friendly and help you with any kind of question. The place is really quiet and if you wanna book any type of activity you can do it via them (cheap prices aswell). Would highly recommend this place! It is super close to all the good restaurants and the main square :)

It was by far the best hostal I stayed in during my 2 month backpacking trip through Colombia. Apart from the fantastic location and the extremely friendly and insanely helpful crew, the hostal offered enough space and was sufficiently equipped to, for example, hang up wet things (e.g. towel/swimwear, etc.), store the backpack and clothes well and each bed, had a bedside table with power socket and lamp. Things you learn to appreciate when you´re travel around within the Colombian hostal world. I also really like the fact that there are very friendly notes everywhere to raise ecological awareness. The crew is by far the friendliest I have ever met and responsibly and trustworthily while helping to plan tours in the area and get to know San Gil. All tips and assistance have always been a complete success and was always really economical. Excellent location and facilities a few minutes walk from the centre of San Gil. Shaun and his team are exceptional. You're not just a guest here, you feel part of a big family and with that comes a brilliant stay. A wealth of knowledge on Colombia and things to do in and around San Gil. There's a 101 reasons why this place is almost always fully booked, so make sure you don't miss out.

Great Hostel! We booked all activities in San Gil here. We had multiple questions regarding our travel itinerary which all have been answered. We could even hang out in the common area after checkout and use all the facilities. Highly recommended!

Our room was next to the front door and located on the street side so it was very noisy. In addition, the door of the bedroom has an opening at the top. So you get little sleep.

I was extremely sorry that I couldn't stay longer. The staff, including the owner were very friendly and welcoming. They were very helpful giving me directions of where to go and the timetable to it. I used to buy a beer at night just to stay at the reception talking. The garden was amazing and the jacuzzi was beyond perfection.

Everything you want from a hostel. Super friendly, informative staff who go above and beyond, with tips for everything. After some travel nightmares we arrived at 2am and were still able to check in. All the activities are super easy to book through the hostel (rafting, paragliding etc). The free tejo night was great fun too. And the hot tub and laundry also great!

Dorm bed wasn't the most comfortable, sadly. Other than that, not much to complain about. Getting to the main square and the nearby restaurants/shops will be an up- and downhill walk affair by default, but this goes for basically anywhere not at the actual main square, I'd assume.

Excellent and very sociable atmosphere, with tons of adventurous activities that can be planned right at the reception desk with the friendly staff. In the early evening you can relax in the jacuzzi and meet folks there, after dinner you can go play boardgames in the lobby and meet the other guests. As a solo backpacker, this has been a near perfect hostel.

Really helpful and friendly staff, for organising activities and general advice about the area. Hostel was clean and had a great social atmosphere (but not a loud party hostel, everyone there to do activities) with organised events like football and Tejo. Would totally recommend a stay here

lovely little place organising great activities with local experts and booking taxis. the hostel organises a game of tejo (local game) every tuesday, would recommend highly, free of charge & involving gunpowder… shaun - the owner made us all feel very welcomed and involved, even inviting us to football with his local mates. the hot tub is HOT, the water pressure is exceptional & the showers have hot water!! the scenes
