Beautiful room and the bed was really comfortable. I loved the terrace where we had breakfast. The staff were lovely. Wifi was strong enough for work and the location was great - easy to walk to some of the notable parts of the old town.

United StatesThere are street parties that go on til 3am. We started in a balcony room and it was unbearable. We moved to an interior room, which was less bad, but weekends were still awful. Any hotel in the immediate area will likely be the same. If you don't mind inescapable car horns and sirens, loud music, shouting, and singing well into the middle of the night...go for it. If you like to get more than two hours of sleep, stay outside of the old town.
The staff and food were wonderful. The rooms were on the small side, but clean and well appointed.

United KingdomWe stayed 3 nights and music was so loud until 3AM every night. It is little exaggeration to say it was like we were in a night club. We asked to change to a less quiet room. So they changed us to a quieter room which was still terrible. They also charged us for a queen room with balcony despite it being a standard without a balcony.

During the day the beaches and tours occupy your time however in the evenings you want to be in Getsemani where everything becomes quite lively. The hotel is in an excellent location with a refreshing rooftop swimming pool, loungers and bar. We have stayed there several times In the past 3 years and have found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. Surprisingly, considering the nighttime activity, the rooms are quite, have good air conditioning allowing for a restful sleep. Thank you Kelly and staff for a wonderful stay as always.

Facilities were great; the rooftop pool was refreshing after a very hot and humid day, and the view was nice (you can see the Castillo de San Felipe from the rooftop); staff was very nice and helpful; AC was perfect; Location in Getsemani was very good, close to everything but I couldn’t hear the street noise in the room, so was still able to get a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was basic but good, and I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a vegan diet.

GermanyTogether with my wife we booked the entire hotel to celebrate our wedding in the company of our most precious guests. Unfortunately the hotel had no electricity for two of the three nights, so the air conditioning did not work in most of the rooms and the bathrooms stopped working. To top it off, the electrical boxes made constant noises in the middle of the night which evidences the great facade that this hotel represents. A cheap infrastructure disguised in an expensive hotel, where if something goes wrong as it happened to us they only made false promises that they were going to give us a refund and 4 weeks later they told us that after analyzing the case they concluded that it was not bad enough to make a partial refund.

United Kingdom“Soy local insignia has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Cartagena de Indias”- well they would if they had not booked the pool out for private use. As we had booked this hotel for use of the pool, this was extremely disappointing. Hostile female receptionist who was rude about the situation and couldn’t understand my upset that a relatively expensive hotel had booked the pool out for private use (for a group that openly discussed in the hotel lobby - with staff members present - bringing prostitutes back to the hotel and on the rooftop). Concerning to see that this hotel allows this behaviour. Manager agreed a discount for the inconvenience of no pool use and was kind to us but we had to go elsewhere to another hotel to use their pool facilities at a cost. I see from other reviews that this is a common occurrence at this hotel so avoid booking to save disappointment. Breakfast is poor and if you are relegated to non pool side B of the hotel, you have to eat outside peoples rooms not on terrace as Advertised. No hot water which they advise on check in, no safe in room or hairdryer as advertised. Breakfast wasn’t ready for agreed time of 7am on our last day so we had to leave for a bus at 7:30am with no breakfast. Even if it was ready, all (3) tables in side “B” were taken and you are prohibited for using roof top pool. A very disappointing stay in what could have been a lovely hotel- would highly recommend you choosing another hotel.
Location is good for walking to old town - but beware of noise from local area (it really is very very loud until 3:30/4am). Room is nice and very clean.
