Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThis hotel is not for everyone. The road to get there is rough, so if you’re not driving, transportation can be tricky. Tuk-tuks charge at least 35,000 COP because the road make the ride challenging for them. I mostly walked and used public buses from the main road, so it wasn’t an issue except for one night when I stayed out late in Guatapé. Another downside is the loud music. The hotel plays reggaeton and party music at a high volume all afternoon and evening until around 10 PM, and it can be heard almost everywhere. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, this might not be the best option for you.
I had a wonderful time at Soy Local in Guatapé! The hotel is surrounded by breathtaking nature, full of birds and stunning views. The food was delicious, and the staff was always attentive and ready to help with anything I needed. One of the highlights of my stay was kayaking—it was so much fun and a great way to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I highly recommend this place for nature lovers and adventure seekers

NetherlandsThe young female receptionist was very unfriendly. Moaning and groaning every time we asked something (hardly ever asking, that is).
Very comfortable (chain) hotel about 10 km from Guatapé town. The hotel is really secluded, with gorgeous views from the terraces out over river/lake. Comfortable places to sit, use a hammock and unwind. The rooms are fairly small, but comfortable, clean with clean linen and towels. The lake is not for swimming, but canoes can be rented at the hotel. Breakfast is included, which is nice as the hotel is far from town/restaurants. It's about a 10 min walk up a pitted dirt road to the main road, where Jimmy jeeps and buses can take you into town. The male staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. My local Claro simcard did not work at the hotel, by no fault of the hotel ofcourse. Fortunately there was free wifi, just a but sketchy but it sufficed.

SurinameThe only problem we had is that the last night and morning of our stay there was no hot water.
Very nice and clean hotel. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the service was grood, although we do not speak spanish. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was just a simple american/mexican breakfast, but we enjoy it. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was oke, the price is same as the other restaurants in the area.

AustraliaRestaurant - it was a bit confusing how ordering food worked. A number of times we sat and waited and tried to catch the staffs attention but felt ignored and they went to people who sat down after us. When I went up to ask to order they seemed confused. Need a better system because they all seemed stressed every breakfast. Rooms - the walls are quite thin and windows offer no privacy so have to have the blind down. Can hear everything on the corridors and bar music is loud until 10pm.
Location - further from town but easy in TukTuk. Beautiful spot on the lake. Lots of space and places to relax/enjoy. Loved the yoga/hammock space. Food - breakfast was great, really filling and good size portion. Meals from the restaurant were big portion and reasonably priced. Some veggie options. Staff - friendly and helpful, tried really hard to speak English for us, it was appreciated. Room - good size, hot shower, fresh towels, soft bedding and sheets. Free kayaks to use, was really fun!

SwitzerlandThere is a lot of potential for additional services for example jt would be great to offer a laundry-service! Espescially considering the remote location. There is a lot of room for improvement for the qualitiy of the food. Would be lovley to have a proper restaurant instead of the „bistro“ as you don‘t have other options nearby.
The hotel is lovely located. Of corse it is a remote place but you know this before you book it ;) It was clean and comfy. The property is well maintained. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

PortugalFor the Price paid for the jacuzzi room, i would expect the room to be bigger. We had some problems with the projector, althought the staff solved the issue. Be aware that is far from the Center so everytime you need to go there, you pay 35-40m pesos.
The staff was amazing. We booked the room with the outside jacuzzi, the jacuzzi was nice.

United KingdomWe got one hot shower over 4 days...the immersion heater needs improving. We had to leave the water running for ages to try and get hot water and the slant of the shower floor meant this nearly flooded onto the bathroom floor. Bathroom window didn't shut properly and had no blinds. American breakfast was ok but the Colombian wasn't great. Soy Local need to update their messaging around kayaks etc - not controllable at all but the water level when we were there was super low and so no water activities available but still being communicated through their channels. Photos also slightly misleading for this reason but again they can't control the water level!
We stayed in a chalet and enjoyed the private terrace and hot tub. View from the chalet was stunning especially watching the lightening storms! Really peaceful and didn't experience any issues with noise. Ok size room, warm enough at night. Pretty location and staff helpful especially when we had an issue with our door and when arranging tuk tuks.

New ZealandThe hotel is a long way down a rough road, and quite a distance from Guatape. Our first night was very hot & there are no fans or air con. Also, it's noisy at night time, with music playing until 10ish. the rooms are big, but the shower/toilet are very cramped.
Our favourite thing at this hotel are the views and chill factor and the lounge chairs and hammocks. The games room is a nice place to have some fun. The meals were very good - the breakfast were excellent, both the American and Colombian options; and the dinners were very good too. Oh, and we loved the hotel's dogs - they were lovely & it's so nice to get some animal time while on holiday.

PortugalWhen we arrived we were shown to a room that hadn't been cleaned. t5he staff then showed us to another room. An extra single bed is in each room i saw which just takes up space.
Food was good. Very remote, the entrance to the property is hard to find especially as we arrived at night. Would be a nice place to go as a group. tuk tuk to the rock was very affordable.

ColombiaI loved the location, the view, it has water sports, the bar. It’s a pretty and neat place. Keep in mind that internet may not be stable all the time since it’s a rural place. Do not drink water from the tap, it’s not potable.

ColombiaThe only thing I didn't enjoy was the food portions were really small and they charged me for coffee even though they had hot coffee out during the day for everyone to drink. I ordered a Cuba Libre, not sure if there was any liqour in there (27000) and the time they didn't have a cold Corona he poured it into a glass with some ice and hardly half the beer made it into the glass.
The view was great, most of the staff was really good and helpful with some English speaking. Very clean place, and the room price was decent to. The bartender was playing some great music when no one was around, was jamming out in to the beats 😊 (the colombian music was great too, it was just cool hearing some of my music from back home!)
