The beds were pretty uncomfortable. The mattresses dipped a lot in the middle and you could feel the slats below. The fans above the beds in our room also didn't work. But still so worth staying. We didn't know you can only get a lancha from Nuqui 2 days a week, or a private one which cost over a million COP.

Amazing colourful hostel in amazing El Valle, in the perfect location at the end of the beach, close to a surf hut. Really difficult to get to from Nuqui but only a tuktuk from Bahia Solano. The wifi is limited but I think that's general to the town, not just the hostel. The staff were helpful with tours.

A lovely place on the beach! Great spot. Little walk to town, but more then worth it. The people are really kind and the cabins are great! Only thing: there are no surfboards like on the pictures ;)

One of the kitchen stoves was not working when we were there and when it’s breezy it’s hard to get the kitchen stoves to heat anything up. Food is quite a bit pricy compared to town, but good. Not much to not like honestly.

Further down on the beach so it’s very quiet at night, lots of spaces to chill, volunteers and staff are very nice, one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed at despite being right on the beach. Seemingly employs lots of local staff/families which is cool to see in a town without a ton of other work opportunities. Food and smoothies that they sell are delicious and you get big portions, included breakfast is always bomb.

The only issues we had are locals coming by to hangout and try to sell you tours or coconuts, but that is common throughout el valle... The water filter was also commonly empty and it was unclear whether the tap water is good to drink or not (I drank it all week with no issue).

The Humpback turtle is an awesome place to stay for an extended period and hang out, play volleyball, socialize, explore, and relax on the beach. Really can't ask for a better place to unplug and unwind. The breakfasts are exceptional, the rooms and bathrooms are kept meticulously clean, the staff is friendly and helpful.

The weather is very humid so it’s something I had to get used to.

The location is amazing, so many hikes and tours available. Very clean hostel, the staff clean everything for what seems like twice a day. The restaurant serves great food, especially the fish here…wow.

The staff, the food, the location! Super relaxing, heathy simple food, good surfing! Everything was really clean and well maintained. The hostel also worked with different tour providers so you could explore the jungle, waterfalls and beaches nearby. What more could you ask for!

I really loved my stay at the Humpback as I have stayed there for 3 weeks ! The atmosphere is super chill and it’s an awesome place to relax, especially in the hostel’s hamacs or directly on the beach as it’s the only hostel that’s actually located on the beach. It’s also a great place to meet other backpackers as well as the locals who always hang out there. Overall I 100% recommend the Humpback !

Thank you to the Humpback Turtle! Beautiful property and beautiful people. I ate breakfast lunch and dinner in the kitchen and all three meals were incredible. Staff was very knowledgeable about tours and overall very helpful and fun to be around. Great vibes, hoping to visit again soon!

We slept in a Treehouse like dorm which is set up on a hill. From there the views are great but there are no bathrooms, going down the steps at night was a bit tricky.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Humpback Turtle! The Location is amazing, directly on the beach. Perfect to chill out and relax. The staff was very friendly and helped wherever they could. The bad reviews we saw on some platforms are definitely not justified.

Location is unbelievable, you sleep with the sounds of the ocean. The ladies that work in the kitchen do a very good job cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ocean is a beautiful temperature and whales are visible from the hostel. The vibe is really cool, great volunteers always willing to help.

I had a really good time at the hostel. The vibe is very nice and it’s good to relax. The hostel is at the beach and surrounded by beautiful nature. I really liked the food, and also the staff is very amazing and friendly. I can really recommend a stay in this nice hostel.

there is a free turtle liberation that is done by the hostel next door, we asked the staff about it in our hostel so many times they never got back to us and were going to charge us to go somewhere far on a tour.

the place is so relaxing, the beach and the layout of the camp is perfect for a nice beer and a good book. the nature around is absolutely breathtaking! the staff super friendly and fun to be around. I would go back for sure.
