Although the shared rooms don’t have lockers, the staff will store valuable stuff for you and are available 24/7, so it wasn’t an issue for me.

The rooms are super clean and spacious. The beds were big and comfortable. The location was perfect - 2 blocks from the main square. Free coffee and water at the hostel. And to top all of that good stuff, the staff were some of the friendliest and most hospitable people I have ever met. Diego is such an absolute gem, and will go way above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing! He’ll help you with restaurant recommendations, trip, bus bookings, experience booking, daily activities (football, tejo, salsa, etc), laundry and probably more that I didn’t discover.

Diego and Dina were just amazing🤩 They make you feel home, and pay attention to your comfort. They are very helpfull for any information you need, and give you the best tips for your stay (activities, transport, restaurant...)! The place is super comfy, well located and really quiet. I had a blast🙏🏼 Definitively one of the best adress I had in Colombia😊

I ended up pretty randomly here, and this place was absolutely amazing, I'll try to keep it short explaining why: - biggest dorm beds I've slept into in Colombia, it was unexpectedly comfortable, and the dorm was very spacious, just 6 beds, and not overcrowded like in other places, at a very good price - also, there's hot water for showering!! - everything was nice and clean, very fresh, and you can ask for towels, mini soap, there's liquid soap in the bathrooms too - Diego and Gynna are amazing 😍 they were super friendly, very kind, and always wanting to help out. They will advise you on where to get a the best lunch, enjoy a good coffee, find something you need buying, what is nice to see around, all sorts of events and fun activities, and they can also put you in touch with the best places offering paragliding (go with Laura), rafting, bungee jumping, canyoning and so on - the coffee on site and the kitchen were an amazing bonus for me, I love coffee and I love cooking - I go to sleep early and I'm a light sleeper, I appreciated how nice and quiet it was - I stayed longer than initially planned, and I switched to a private room after a while: very comfortable, with private bathrooms, the view of the church bells from the bed was definitely a nice touch, and I also indulged into watching Netflix - hanging out in the common area: I've met many interesting travelers from everywhere here, some of whom easily became friends and adventure buddies to explore around with, and there were also some games available to play, and books too - lastly, the place was super cute, you can see they put thought into details and comfort (I loved the yellow light available as alternative to the white light that hurts my eyes in every other place, that was another sweet bonus for me, that made my stay more comfortable) I've already returned, and I will return again.

1, some rules set by the owner we’re very unreasonable. We arrived at the hostel around 1pm. We were told that the room next to the reception was ready for us. But if we wanted to checked in at 1pm, two hours earlier than the ‘checkin time’ of 3pm, we need to pay a few dollars extra. This rule was not stated on booking.com. We are travelling around world since 2015 and never heard about this unkind rule like this one before. 2, The room windows were just wooden boards with cracks, without glass. Because the windows faced an uphill crossing road, the loud roar of motorcycles continued from 5am all day. You couldn't open the windows when you slept at night, and there was no air conditioning, so it was very stuffy. So we moved to another hostel 5 minutes walk from this one for another 5 nights.

We had chosen it because we thought it would be quiet based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the opposite was the case. The walls are very thin, so you can really hear everything. There were no quiet times, as you could hear chatter and cell phone noises before 7 am and even after 10 pm. So if you just need a bit of peace and quiet, you should go somewhere else.

The hostal is located next to a busy road which makes it pretty noisy during the night. It was hard to fall asleep. Besides the rooms are situated around a main hall. This makes the sound to echo and makes it noisy too. We had to ask people including the staff to lower their voice late night.

I really enjoyed my stay at This Is Colombia. Everything was clean and the location is good. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful of any hostel that I have stayed at. You can tell they not only take pride in their work but also enjoy it at the same time. Marilyn was my favorite! She is very friendly and helpful with whatever you need😀
