Filtered water would have been nice. I got used to colder showers after dipping in the pool every morning to freshen up.

This was my 3rd extension at this hostel before moving to another for a change. The second hostel was very nice, but Tinto was by far, my favourite because of its large open areas, gardens, pool and terraces overlooking the city. The private room, with a double bed and bathroom, was large, comfortable and great value for the price. Javier is the nicest owner.

This is exactly my kind of hostel. Quiet and a little rustic feeling with outdoor kitchens and lots of gorgeous wood and outdoor spaces. Stone terraces, gardens, and a pool. I stayed in both a private room and the dorm room when I extended. I'm not a fan of cold showers but they seem to be the norm in budget hostels in Colombia. This was an oasis in the middle of Barichara.

For the price, it was perfect !

The staff are well organized and if you have a question, they have the answer ! The size of the room was really good with high ceiling. I personnaly love the bathroom with a tree in the middle of the room ! The pool was also really nice and the place was quiet. The share kitchen was also usefull.

This is a beautiful hostel located centrally in Barichara. The photos on the listing do not do justice to how beautiful this place is. It has amazing views, comfortable rooms, a great outdoor kitchen and super lovely, chilled out staff. I was there during the annual festival of the town which involved really loud music all weekend and genuinely couldn't hear anything as I slept in the dorm, which is some sort of miracle. Lovely cats, nice cold pool. Perfect!!

Kitchen wasn't the cleanest but that's more on other guests. Cold water showers .

Beautiful setting with lots of nice places to sit and relax. The owner was helpful and there is a kitchen we used every night to cook. Rooms are as advertised, fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Location was good, only a short walk from the main square.

Awesome place! Really exceeded my expectations. I stayed 10 days and really didn’t want to leave. Amazing views, comfortable environment, very peaceful, excellent kitchen, beautiful cats, and mango trees.. so sometimes mangos for breakfast :)

Perfectly located in a quiet street near the central plaza of the town. Beautiful property that has preserved architecture from colonial period and a touch of modernity (like the pool and well equipped communal kitchen). The walls of this hostel, like traditional houses of Barichara, are made with rocks and mud which keep the rooms cool during hot and dry days. Best price for a dorm bed compared to other hostel of this town!

Really spacious room and we even had our own outdoor kitchnette right outside our room which was really useful. Our en suite bathroom was also really cool: half indoor/half outdoor with a huge tree in the middle of it! It was nice to be able to use the swimming pool at the hostel to cool off after going on local walks and exploring the lovely town of Barichara.

Lacks of cleanliness, the place has so much potential but, besides from the dorm which was very clean, the common areas are not very well maintained. Kitchen is very basic, I wanted to use it but I changed my mind…

Location was perfect, far enough from the noises of the town center but still a walking distance from everything. The place itself is very chill !

Some beds in the dorm make quite some noise if you move.

Very nice garden with plenty of space to relax and a great view from the terrace. When I was there they fixed the hot water system so on my last night I could take a hot shower.

There isn't anything I didn't like.

When I first booked at Tinto Hostel, I was in the process of looking for a tranquil and quiet place to stay for the last month of my 9-month journey abroad. After spending two nights in Barichara and at Tinto Hostel, I knew I had landed in the perfect spot. I ended up extending my stay from 2 nights to almost a full month. The hostel is surrounded by rich greenery which made it all that more relaxing and rejuvenating. I felt I was sleeping in a beautiful garden yet, the dorm room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The beds were also much bigger than any dorm room that I'd stayed in throughout my journey in Colombia. The location was perfect and close to everything. The town of Barichara itself, was absolutely stunning. The cost was extremely affordable. The owner Javier and his staff were wonderful and a delight to be around. Javier upon arrival, provided everyone with a map of the town and recommended the best places to eat, shop, and sites to see. Javier was always available for anything guests needed and was always helpful in any way possible. Javier is an exceptional host and I will miss him and his staff greatly.
