The pictures didn’t even do this place justice! Absolutely STUNNING views - west facing property made for the most magical sun sets (from the hot tub no less). Facilities were beautifully designed, everything you could need was there (including thoughtful snacks/ coffee w/ milk and other goodies). Hosts were very responsive and helpful. I will be dreaming of this place for a long time - can’t recommend staying here enough.

Nothing, well, the road going up is pretty steep and rutted, but so worth it!

Beautiful location, amenities were appreciated; Prosecco, snacks, drinks, soaps, lotions, hair care, bathrobes, just everything! The hot tub and deck were fantastic! The staff was so responsive and helpful!

Nothing we didn’t like

Everything, clean plentiful towels, clean everything, the finishes in the A-frame house were amazing hope I have a house like that one day. The space was unbelievable with high ceilings, big windows, fresh air, gorgeous walkway and doors, plenty of sunlight and such a relaxing deck with a hot tub. The views of the star and the sunset were incredible. They gave us a bottle of brut that we enjoyed while looking at the sunset and the toucans that flew around. They provided binoculars that helped us look at the amazing wildlife around our place. Best place we have stayed at anywhere in the world.

The roads to get to Amalú Monteverde can be a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in Costs Rica. There are many directional signs to confirm you are heading in the right direction and once you arrive you will realize the drive was worth all the ruts and bumps.

Simply amazing! We stayed in Glass Cabin No. 1 and from the moment we arrived we’re in awe of the amazing view, the unique location hanging on the edge of the mountain, and the modern conveniences including the well stocked refrigerator, and champagne on ice! Everything was top notch! There are lots of local activities to keep you busy if you can pull yourself away from the spectacular view.

All the gifts are fantastic, however I would expect a higher quality coffee machine (maybe good for Americans who don’t know good coffee, but not the Europeans ;)). Also some fruits would have been nice. But all good, we brought our own. There is a grocery store nearby in Santa Elena.

Absolutely fantastic. The sunset views in a hot tub with sparkling wine and the sounds of birds - memories will last forever. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Showers amazing with nature around. Appreciated the breakfast set. Very glad we chose this place to start our holidays. Well done and kudos to the owners!

We absolutely loved the place. The Tiny house is modern and has everything you might want including a hot tub and a fire place. The views from the observation platform are incredible. The hosts were really friendly and have thought of every to the smallest detail. They even left us fresh eggs, milk and juice, coke and beer and a bottle of bubbly which was a welcome surprise. Highly recommend the Amalu resort.

Everything was perfect. I didn't expect it to be this wondeful. Our tiny house wasn't tiny :) and it was spacious and comfortable. Every detail was taken care of, even breakfast products waiting for us in the fridge (reservation was without breakfast) and a bottle of good sparkling wine. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others. Thank you!

The wind overnight was something else. They did provide ear plugs, which was the saving grace as we got some sleep once we found them.

The road getting there was a little hike but once we had it figured out it was good! The light in the backyard was a bit bright during the night from the loft but we were given eye masks for the night so that was a nice touch!

This property was stunning, as soon as we got there and walked down the pathway to our house we were blown away by how nice it was and the view. The welcome gift and items for breakfast were appreciated so much. Beds and sheets were comfortable, house was so clean and modern. Loved the record player, turned that on and poured ourselves a drink to celebrate as soon as we got there while taking in the views.

The property is on the far northwest of all attractions that are in the Monteverde area. You must drive or take a taxi to go to the closest restaurant. The hill leading to the hotel is steep and poorly lit and doesn’t seem safe for walking, but we did see a few locals walking the hill during daylight. Having said that, we never had to wait more than 15 minutes after calling a taxi.

Our family of four including two teenagers stayed in the A-frame house. There are different houses located on the property, but they are arranged so that you feel you have the whole hillside to yourself. From the deck of the A-frame you have sweeping views of the hills below and the Gulf of Nicoya in the distance. I enjoyed some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen from the property’s observation deck. The house itself came with plenty of high quality towels and bathrobes, and unexpected freebies in the kitchen: champagne, wine, beer, soft drinks, chocolate, a smore kit, juice, butter, and eggs in the fridge and more. The staff is friendly, informative, accessible, and helped us arrange taxi rides into town.

This hotel is an experience! It was the best hotel that I have ever been. It was the best part of our trip. It was very clean, and had all the equipment and perfect products for breakfast. Whoever visits Monteverde should go to this hotel.
