Very friendly and welcoming, Jorge and Djana were the highlight of my stay at Argdivan hostel! They surely make sure you enjoy your stay in La Fortuna and give you all the tips you need to know when travelling around. Would definitely recommend!

Some of the bathroom door locks and hinges need fixing. The dorm I was in had no A/C and was very hot and stuffy. The exchange rate given at the hostel is very unfavourable. 1 USD = 525 colons. Try to pay where possible in USD.

Not a party hostel but very sociable. Lots of tour and transfer options. Breakfast was cooked fresh every day. Simple toast, eggs, ham and fruit. Bunks had individual reading lights and privacy curtains. The 6 bed dorm had an ensuite which was very clean and the shower has excellent hot water. The staff were great. Very communicative and facilitated early breakfasts for me twice (I had early tours both days) It's a 5-10 min walk from the centre of town. This is a pro and a con. It's a nice quiet area with ample street parking

It could have been a bit cleaner, and also it was quite hot but I got the 10 bed dorm on my third night and there was AC

The tours organized are really nice, I liked that we got some pineapple and Lautoro let us swim for ages in the river. The price/value is very good, the hostel has a great chill vibe and I met super nice people there.

I mean the breakfast wasn’t big or phenomenal but it was very cheap and well rounded so can’t complain (beggars can’t be choosers 😁)

Ronald at the front desk was super helpful in suggesting activities and friendly, as were other staff. Kitchen and rooms were great and very reasonably priced, great connections to activities and easy to make bookings with and very accepting and helpful the whole time.

The dorm was very very hot on the first night (other days it was raining) and I was disappointed because on booking.com I had filtered by air conditioning. Also I thought there was a roof bar but it didn't sell drinks and there is not really enough space for everyone in the common areas. You weren't allowed to make noise after 10pm and one night when we came home late the door was locked and we had to climb in through a window.

The staff were very helpful and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. The tour prices were competitive. It was pretty friendly and easy to meet people. Each bed had a power socket and the lockers seemed strong.

The dorm walls and windows are really thin, so you’ll hear everything. Also, the ensuite door definitely needed some WD40 as it creaked when opening/closing. Owners have a dog, avoid if allergic.

Has more of a house feel than a hostel, short 2/3 minute walk into town with a supermarket nearby. They offer shuttles and discounted tours around the area, WiFi’s decent and the showers are warm.

The breakfast was disappointing, and I would recommend trying other options nearby. The 6-person room could use improvement in terms of size and the quality of the furniture provided

Actually, breakfast was the only thing which I wasn’t really satisfied with. The breakfast consisted of tiny portions of food: you are definitely still hungry after you finish your plate.

The staff and volunteers were great. Many activities are proposed and organized within the hostel. The what’s up QR code within the hostel allowed us to be in touch all the time and facilitated us to organize the activities in different ways: superb idea. I really felt at home. Thanks to all

There’s nothing we didn’t like

We rented the apartment and it was a great size! Shower pressure was great, a cute little balcony to sit out on and they provided coffee, oil, salt etc… which was a lovely touch. They have lots of tours you can organise with the staff and everybody is happy to help.

Very friendly staff! Fun and easy tour booking through the hostel. Clean rooms, nice location (near main roads but not noisy). Good value for breakfast!
