How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing to mention.
Private bathroom in the room. Nice communal area and swimming pool. Big kitchen (probably one of the best ones I have seen in hostels in two months) and well equipped. Amazing location, literally 1 min walking distance from the beach and 3 minutes from the market by the beachside and the main road with shops and restaurants. Lovely restaurant next to the hostel in case you don't want to cook one night (turn right from the hostel and it is the only restaurant), I had some local food take away and fell in love with it. It was possible to socialize despite the low season thanks to how the communal area is structured.

The hostel was so warm and cute! Everyone at reception was exceedingly kind and knowledgable of things to do in the area as well as bus schedules. Cool Vibes was very clean and relaxed and right next to the beach!

This hostel has such good vibes! Very peaceful place, I met great people and had a great time, probably one of my best days of my trip. Beds were comfortable, every bed had its own fan so it was not very hot at night. I really enjoyed the Pool.

The hostel is really friendly with a chilled out vibe. The kitchen facilities are excellent and the hostel is kept clean. Having a plunge pool is a bonus. The beach is really close and the shops, cafes, markets, restaurants etc are a short stroll away. It’s good value.

Great location - right on beach, near the main road for bars/restaurants, and also short walk to bus stop. Room was spacious and clean, great size communal area and kitchen.

The layout of the hostel was homey and well appointed, especially the kitchen area which was always clean, and the shared areas which were comfortable and welcoming. Our room was comfortable with air conditioning, the mattresses on the beds were comfortable, and the shower had immediate hot water. We were a short walk from the beach and restaurants, it was quite nice!

Nothing, it's all fantastic.
Absolutely everything was lovely. A delightful place so near the beach, with a beautiful garden and pool, hammocks, a large clean well equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, table and chairs outside rooms, terrific staff who are all friendly and helpful, a TV with Netflix and YouTube for guests....it's so peaceful and such great vibes!

I had a lovely stay for 6 nights at the hostel in a private room. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. I really enjoyed the lovely pool. I would swim in it at night to cool down before bed then have a cool shower with the fan blowing on me and I slept very comfortably in the heat.

What can I say… Cool Vibes is a very cool place to stay. The location in Domincal is great. The staff were very professional and very friendly. The room was simply furnished but comfortable. There was hot water in the shower. The wi-fi functions well. The best feature though was the kitchen. Even though it is a community kitchen, it is spacious and well equipped with everything so that even three or four people could be preparing meals at the same time.

What a great hostel! I stayed here for 3 nights and came back the next week for another 3 nights. For me, this hostel had everything. Relaxed, very friendly staff, nice comfortable rooms and beds, fine showers, nice common area to chill and especially the kitchen was amazing. Lots of space and equipment, very clean and organized. The hostel is very close to the beach and also supermarkets or restaurants are in walking distance.

Not a luxury room by any means but good for the price and the vibe/setting makes up for it.
Love the vibe here, 2 minute walk to beautiful Dominical beach. Easy 10 - 15 minute walk to mini marts, restaurants, shops. Pool is small but cute, surrounded by beautiful plants and good for taking a quick dunk to cool down. Shared kitchen was spacious and well kept.
