Great location & hospitality. Easy walk to shops & beach but peacefully off the Main Street. Clean, well appointed, comfortable, delicious breakfast, nice pool. Perfect for my solo trip, felt super safe & welcomed. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

We could have used an extra mirror in the main room since the bathroom is on the smaller side.

The location was excellent. 10 minutes walk to the beach, on a quiet street, near a grocery story/pharmacy and close to a lot of restaurants.

Location close to the action and beaches but far quieter. Very good, small hotel with small rooms but comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. Pool is small but nice area to lounge about. Staff are great. Don't expect luxury but simply a nice place to call home when visiting Tamarindo

If you want total peace and quiet this isn't the place for you. Tamarindo is busy everywhere so there is always some noise. You can't get away from it if you want to be walking distance to the beach.

The staff here are amazing and go above and beyond to make your entire stay is perfect. It is a very friendly and welcoming property. Morning breakfast is delicious with numerous choices. The pool is perfect and you will usually have it to yourself. This property is very close walking distance to the beach as 2 of the best restaurants in town are neighboring properties. There is also a Saturday market a block away.

Not really suitable for two octogenarians as it is situated on an unmade unlit road, which made it difficult to go out after dark.

We loved this little hotel, tucked away on a quiet street, but just a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Very comfortable room, and a great shower! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious, especially the avocado toast! We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Score........10 out of 10. Very convenient to town and beaches, yet tucked away on a quiet street. It was my bright, cheerful & peaceful home for an 8 day stay. Elisa and staff were both friendly and helpful on suggestions for restaurants etc. I will return....soon I hope!

Nothing we didn’t like. The owner also has security keeping an eye on the place at night and we loved that. It’s small, only 6 rooms so it’s quant and personal.

Property was perfectly located about a block off a main street, far enough away from noise at night but close enough for walking to all the shops, restaurants and beach. It is the cutest place and the pool is amazing. Nice little breakfast every morning !!

As others have said, this is an oasis of calm and quiet despite being 2 mins walk to the hustle and bustle. We loved the design, giving privacy and peace to all guests. The breakfasts were amazing. Really comfortable bed, room spotless. Eliza, the owner, is a great host; she is friendly, knowledgeable and a real people person who wants her visitors to enjoy their stay.

Book now for prime location with an incredible owner! Hands down Elisa was just top notch! She cooked us gormet breakfast every morning (shoutout to her Avocado Toast), offered us advice on restaurants, excursions, other places to check out etc. She is what made our stay so amazing !! In terms of location I don’t think you can beat it. It’s one block off the main road so not noisy but everything is walkable. Each room has its own patio/balcony, is well appointed with nice, comfortable beds, smart TV, small desk and chair, open closet with extra hangers, a safe and a well laid out bathroom. We loved everything about Hotel Elixir. Don’t miss the chance to stay with Elisa!

The AC unit is very effective but only has a high speed so I found it difficult to sleep with it on. The ceiling fan rattles so could only have that on minimum at night. The best rooms are on the top level. As it is a small hotel the lower rooms have less privacy. There is construction close by and pretty much everywhere in Tamarindo which can make hanging at the pool a dusty affair but the afternoons were better in that regard.

Contrary to a lot of reviews, I thought the breakfast was very good. There are only 4 options but they cover pretty much every breakfast type. Excellent location, close to town. The owner is always on hand to provide advice and resolve any problems and was a great host. The pool is quite small but it is sufficient enough with the beach being the main daytime draw.

The pillows were extremely uncomfortable, hard and high. All four of the pillows were the same. I asked for at least one soft one but they didn't have any. The room was new looking and modern. However, some of the furniture not practical or comfortable to use. Such as bean bag seats in the lounge and no bedside tables, just a small shelf attached to the wall. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It was unfortunate that our first room was facing a house in the process of being built and all that entails. Although this is out of the owner's control, it would have been nice to have been warned about this. The outside area around the pool was not very clean or well kept, so not too appealing. The sunbeds had bird poo all over them and one of the beds the wheel was broken.

When we asked to change rooms, they did so with no quibble and without charging us for the upgraded room The new room was large with a separate lounge area. The location was good, next to everything but still quiet. The small pool was lovely for a dip. The free drinking water a nice touch. They helped us with booking transportation. Fred gave us a lovely welcome and good information about the area.

I love that it was a boutique hotel with only a handful of rooms, I used the pool like everyday and only shared it with someone else once. It was a 5 minute walk from the town centre but far enough away that you weren’t kept up all night by the nightlife (bar one night when the neighbors had a party)
