Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelBefore booking this hotel, be aware that despite the promised working space, the designated shelf for computers is often in poor condition and the rooms are not well-maintained. Additionally, the layout of the rooms allows for visibility between them, compromising privacy. In my experience, the shelf in my room collapsed, resulting in significant damage to my computer. When I informed the manager, who may also be the owner, their compensation offer was inadequate, suggesting beverages instead of addressing the broken glass on the floor. Attempts to seek a refund were met with refusal, and overall, my stay was highly disappointing. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

GermanyOn one side of the hotel must be a children playground. On the other side is an open restaurant wich plays music until late. Our room was definitely not like on the pictures. It was old and the bathroom worn down and smelly. The accomodation is too pricey for what they offer.
Wifi is working well. The bed was comfortable.

CanadaSmall room, air conditioner was right over the bed so would blow down on you. The shower drain was clogged with dirt and hair, so the floor filled up with water. The toilet seat was peeling. Ants crawling on the walls and shower. This place didn't have a good vibe. I wish I had booked somewhere else.
Nice pool and quiet as it was away from the main part of town. I got a discount booking a massage and pedicure through booking through the hotel. Had a fridge and coffee maker. You get breakfast and lunch, good food.

United Statesupon our arrival, there were over 20 red ants in our room, crawling on the floors and walls. we had just gotten in from a 3.5 hour drive from La Fortuna and was very sleepy, so we were a bit irritated to find so many ants. we went to the front desk to express our concerns and all we got was ant spray that didn’t even kill the ants. we figured out that they were coming from under the door, so we decided to block the opening with the belts from the robes. blocking the ants out made it a LITTLE better to be able to actually get some type of sleep knowing nomore were coming in. we woke up with a few ant bites. too, the shower didn’t work the first night. if there were other hotels with availability we would have definitely left on the first night. the receptionist did offer free breakfast one morning to make up for the inconvenience. all in all, this hotel is not worth the price. I will say, the location is perfect. if you don’t mind ants and ant bites, this is the hotel for you!! they need to add something underneath all of the doors so ants cannot crawl in

United StatesThe room was small, and you could see every other room on the second floor if you did not close the curtains. Most importantly, however, the bathroom had a very very bad stench to it. It was nearly unbearable. Also, the bathroom was not really clean. The same goes for the bedsheets, which had stains to it. It's quite unfortunate, because this hotel would have some potential to it.
The hotel looks really nice from the outside. The pool is great. The staff was very welcoming. The breakfast was decent.

United StatesUnderstandably there is a lot of ongoing construction in the area, so expect to hear noise frequently. I think I expected more of the room. It was clean and fully functional but the bed was really uncomfortable and had a large slope. It would not be my top choice for an extended stay but otherwise a decent value!
The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to pretty much everything and next door to some amazing restaurants. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us check in earlier than expected. The coworking office and pool were beautiful, well-maintained and aligned with the pictures shown.

SwitzerlandThe room is quite small, it didnt bother me as I travel alone nevertheless the rooms look different in the pictures. At least mine did. There was barely light in the room and the ceiling fan light was of a strange white cold type that I just had to leave it off. The shower head is build so up high that for “smaller” people (like me), by the time you get water on your head, theres barely pressure. Just a strange construction in my opinion, for being a high quality hotel. I still had a great stay here, but just a few details that dont match the price range. Also the first night there was a huge mess happening outside at the pool area of people partying and being extremely loud. I chose to pay more for this hotel so that I could have a good sleep, as Tamarindo is known to be a party town. It was saturday night, so I assume this is not always like that. The following two nights were tranquil. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay here, met really nice people and I would come back.
Great location, close to everything but far enough to have peace and silence. 3-5min walk to restaurants, shops and beach. Great and very big pool, nice and comfortable pool chairs, great co-working space, drinking water for free, safe in the room and delicious breakfast and lunch place as part of the hotel, but not included in the room rate. The best thing was the staff! Sandra, Mazik and Maggie have been so nice, accomodating, helpful and just great to talk to. Loved that. Having a great staff makes a difference to your stay! Thank you for that :)

United StatesLittle privacy as your window faces other rooms and the pool. In the shower there was a broken stand to hold your amenities however the shower is big enough and you don’t notice.
I like the location , in center of town but tucked away in a side street, next to a great restaurant and close to other amenities. The staff was attentive which is great.
