Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. United StatesThe water stopped working in the middle of the night (sink/etc) and during the day the water pressure was pretty low. The pillows were pretty firm and uncomfortable. Otherwise the place was fine.
The breakfast that came with the stay was good quality and tasty.

Costa RicaParking has always been very tight for my big truck. The parking was blocked when we needed to leave in the morning. It was quite a mess with another large truck parked blocking the entrance. It took quite a while to sort it out. It should have been better monitored and supervised by the Hotel rather than by the clients. If you have a smaller car it's little problem. We also had a bad door knob and lock on the bathroom door. We closed the door and it locked behind us and took quite a time to get it opened again. It seems general small repairs needed to be done. Frayed towels needed to be upgraded as well. It is an economy hotel, but has been better in the past.
We have stayed at Hotel Javy many times in the past. The front desk staff is always helpful and friendly. We requested a favorite room and that was granted, no problem. It's very quiet and clean and a short cab ride to downtown sites and restaurants.

United StatesThey didn't have washcloths, but while that is standard issue in American hotels, it apparently isn't in Costa Rican hotels. No problem. I bought one at a grocery store.
The hotel is lovely, clean, and has all you need for a relaxing stay. The courtyard has secure parking, and the lush flora adds so much. The breakfast girl was patient with our limited Spanish language skills. The breakfast is Costa Rican typical breakfast, which we greatly enjoyed! The cost is very reasonable, especially for the value.

Easy check in. Really lovely feel to the place. Easy to find and lots of parking!! Everything explained at check in. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!
