Super kind and helpful staff and service 24hours a day. Cleanest bathroom i have been for in a while. Exactly what I expect an airport hostel to be. You cant walk there! But Uber is cheap. Little supermarket next door. And yes you wake up at night because you can here the planes. It is not a place where you stay more than a night, no socializing. But good to catch a flight or arrive at SJO

Only two minor points: -There are no shelves to store your bags/luggage in the rooms. I was alone in a 6 bed dorm so I had no problems, but if 6 people would have slept there, I guess it would have been quite challenging. - There were only a few sockets in the room (and some not accessible to everyone, as the beds stood next to them), which may be disadvantageous if you want to charge anything throughout the night. But for me it was fine and I really enjoyed the stay.

Nice Hostel super close to the Airport. I stayed there just for my first night as I arrived quite late at SJO. The Stuff was very friendly and helped me with all my questions. You can get a Pick Up from the Airport to the Hostel for 5$ which was quite convenient. The Bus Stop to the city center of San José is just around the corner (Red Tuasa bus) and is only 760 Colón. This Line is actually also passing by the Airport. There is a food truck, where you can get breakfast (Gallo Tinto or Pancakes) and Lunch/Dinner (Typical Casado, Burgers, Empanadas etc.) for 6$. The food was really rich and really good! The facilities were clean, the shower had hot water, and the rooms were OK. The dorm didnt have windows to the outside but to the floor and an air conditioning, so it was still convenient to sleep. You can hear the airplanes, yes, but they are only going during the day, not at night. It didnt bother me at all (I was awake quite early due to the Jetlag anyhow). So for one night before/after your flight, I can highly recommend!

we arrived at night in San Jose and took a taxi to the hostel. The woman behind the desk was very friendly, helpfull and so kind. She helped us with paying the taxi correctly, protecting us from the mad taxi driver, rented her phone adapter and make sure that we were fine.

Weird one feet got red stained from the red wood on floor outside of the room. So just wear shoes when going to toilet or shower. Nothing else of note to dislike.

Location was perfect right next to airport can get taxi for $4/5 dollars. Used it arriving and departing costa rica, found it value for money as just wanted the basic. Quite well known by taxi drivers at airport and central San Jose.

The price quality is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, although they ripped us off a little bit when it comes to colones-dollar. But overall we were very happy with our stay.

Lorena was exceptional in all respects in helping us out in settling comfortably. However the guy at the checkout spoiled it for us. The hostel has their own cab for airport drop off. We ordered this cab and then immediately heard from a friend that he was coming to meet us at the hosrel in a little while. We told the guy at the reception within a minute to cancel the cab. But he refused point blank staying that he was not allowed to cancel it. The cab arrived within another minute. All this has not taken more than 3-4 minutes. I went out to inform the driver that we would not be needing it and he was fine with it and ready to leave. But this guy from the reception rushes out and talks to the driver in Spainish and now we have tge driver asking us to pay the full fare. We paid the full fare and although the amount was small, it left a bad taste in the mouth.

Lorena was exceptional at the reception at the time of our checking in. She made it all very comfortbale to settle in.

The shower wasn't very hot and the key for our door didn't work, so we were only able to lock the room from the inside.

It was great how close the hostel was to the airport (a less than 5 minute drive!) and they have a driver they work with that makes it really easy to coordinate. Having a little food truck on site was amazing when we arrived late and were very hungry. Last minute casados made our night! Even though we had two separate bookings for our group of 5, the management helped us get one room for our whole group.

I spent my first and my last night in Costa Rica at the Toucan Hostel. It is really close to the airport, the rooms are clean and they have modern toilettes and showers. You can also get a cheap breakfast in the morning and the staff is overly friendly and helpful if you’re having any questions.

The room was quite loud as the food truck outside played music until 11pm. In the night you will need a taxi to the airport due to security concerns. So might not be ideal for early morning flights.

The staff was very nice! We had a clean and tidy room. Ammenities were good, some small things were missing like a hook to hang the towels etc. The hostel is fairly close to the airport. During the day you can walk there in the night you need a taxi (5 USD). Good value for money.

not exactly the best place for "night stroll". There is onsite security though. Really no complaints about the lodging.

stayed overnight for early flight the next morning. Staff helped arrange a taxi to pick me up at 0500 for the next day. They have a new food-cart outside that has pizza menu where you can get a fresh pizza and other foods onsite. It is a pretty good pizza for Costa Rica. Hot water shower . Taxi ride is less than 5 minutes from the door to the terminal at SJO airport. Small shop next door for sodas, chips, ciggs, ice-cream, small veggies, noodles, etc. Onsite fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, sink, etc.
