The individual room is not entirely separated, there's this odd open window that connects it with the others and is just separated by two curtains, so you end up hearing everything going on in the shared room

Fantastic location, a short walk from both the beach, the ferry terminal and the city centre. We didn't use the kitchen facilities but our room came with a balcony that offered a superb view over Mindelo. We would stay here again if we came back to Mindelo.

The water supply didn't work properly in the toilet of our floor, which caused a little bit of inconvenience. However, they were working on repairing it before we left.

Worthy stay for the money and good location! Silvia, the owner, recommended us many beautiful places to us. Plus, if you are an animal lover, you will be helping by staying there! I recommend it 100% if you are looking for affordable accommodation and a good location.

My bedroom didn't have a window (or it did but no way of opening it) so it wouldn't be very nice for a long stay

The only downside was the absence of warm water in the shower, which proved a bit discomforting, especially given the chilly nights.

It was clean, even in the common bathroom. The bedroom was quiet at night, and the bed was quite comfortable. The roof terrace offered a great view over the city. Most and foremost, it was the perfect location to meet common travelers. I met some great volunteers and made friends for life <3

The dorm on the top floor isn't good deal,as it is next to the terrace where people come to talk and smoke all the time, noisy and cigarettes smokes get into the room.

The terrace is, of course, a smoking space, so we had to keep closing the window to our bedroom to keep the smell out, and it would get SUPER hot. There was almost no space in the fridge and the markers for labelling food weren't working - and then were replaced with markers that didn't work on plastic/packaging.

Great location, spacious room and well equipped kitchen in terms of cooking tools, plates and cuterly (note that you do need to provide all your own ingredients, down to cooking oil and salt, unless someone has left something behind). There is a cat and at least one dog on premises for cuddles =).

The shower was super clean but hardly any pressure to have a good wash after 15 hours on the boat !!

We arrived super late after a long boat journey and the team stayed up to welcome us (after hours). We really appreciated it :) The room was clean and functional for our 5 hours sleep !

The matrass was sagging a lot My room's window was next to the rooftop terrace, so I could smell others smoke while I was in bed The upstairs shower has no door while hooks are across the room, so when you undress and want to hang your clothes you have to hide in the shower curtain so that people on the terrace don't see you naked. This feels cumbersome and unhygienic to me. An extra door or curtain would be great.

Overall good vibe, great place to meet people, nice rooftop terrace, good luggage storage in room. Overall, I just love the concept, and for that, I will definitely return. All the animals were great for cuddling!

It was my first experience so not much I can add here as I thought it was great value for money.

It was my first time staying in a hostel and I have to say it was brilliant. Some wonderful people I met there. The hosts were super helpful and accommodating, the hostel was also very close to everything. Everywhere was walking distance from bars, beach and local amenities. Had my own room and it was was spacious with working desk for me to work while I was there. I also loved the the mission of the hostel so will defo be staying here again when back to Mindelo.
