Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOne must be aware of the typical stairs that are narrow and steep. The attic bathroom was tight, but workable.
The room was a very interesting attic space, with good A/C and also good window ventilation.

GermanyPool is tiny. No beaches close, you need a car to reach the good beaches. Price is quite high, but everything in Curacao is very expensive compared to Europe.
Directly in the center, restaurants very close, just a short walk to the supermarket . Staff very helpful and friendly. Electrical light could have been a bit stronger. Shower worked very well. Everything clean, free coffee.

ArubaThere just a few minor things that can be improved. -The room’s door is accessible from a hallway anyone can get to from the street. The first night I was pretty uncomfortable, but you get over it. Maybe if the metal gate had a lock on it I would have felt much safer. -The type of water heater used is placed too far from the shower. By the time the water comes out it’s already cold. just needs a more powerful version -There are vent holes in the bathroom wall that lets mosquitos in the room. This could be an easy fix by putting some type of wire mesh on the outside. Other than these minor flaws, I had a great stay. I would definitely stay again!
For the purpose of my trip, it was perfect. The staff were very nice and helpful. It’s located in the city which you may or may not like. It’s about 2-3 minutes away from the US Consulate (driving) which is nice. A lot of small cafe style restaurants right behind the hotel. (tip: make reservations)The deluxe room’s layout was nice and felt modern and spacious with just a few minor flaws.

CanadaThe only thing was a very musty smell in the bathroom. It was raining a lot when I was there so I think this likely contributed to it - but I found it overwhelmingly in the upstairs bathroom/shower area. Didn't have any issues in the downstairs bedroom!
Good location in Pietermaai. Great for local bars and restaurants and easy walk into centre town.

ColombiaThe bedroom is like a loft, the bathroom doesn't have a door, so it has no privacy. Some of the rooms where close to the street so we can hear the noise outside.
The room was spacious, it had its own small living room, kitchenette, etc. It was cormftable and cozy. Breakfast was more than enough and delicious.

GermanyThe pictures and the size shown in the lists (either booking.com or homepage hotel) unfortunately don't really represent reality. We had the most expensive appartment/room with two levels. It was really dark. And the promised 55 square meters were in fact maximum 30! This is only half of the advertised size. And including the roof over the upper level and the stairway it was not big - it was narrow and tiny.
The Pietermaai Boutique Hotel is situated in the district Pietermaai, directly near all central parts of Willemstad. The district itself offers all that you want - bars, restaurants, beach/water... The hotel is more a couple of buildings that have all been renovated within the last years. The reception building is situated individually, so the appartments are more placed like on a campus. The breakfast is in a restaurant nearby and offers all that you expect. The two pools are stylish and nice. The staff: perfect! Friendly, helpful, great!

BrazilAlthough our room was large, our bathroom was very small. There was no door in the bathroom, not even for the toilet, so there is not much privacy for using the bathroom. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll have a parking space in their parking, since there are a few places to park there. Sometimes we arrived at the hotel at night and needed to find a place in the street to let our car.
Excellet location, it’s possible to go by walk to the main touristic points in Cuaracao city center. Staff was very kind and helpful. Good breakfast, many hotels does not have breakfast in Curacao, so it’s a relevant differential

PolandThis place is overrated. We did not like that it is promoted as 4* hotel but the facilities were for B&B. The rooms look different than in pictures, breakfast is very poor and we had to pay extra every day for a yogurt and an orange juice for our 1 year old baby.
We liked the location and the large room, where our baby could run and play

NetherlandsCleanliness could be a bit better, there was sand in the room for several days as during daily cleaning it was not noticed. One day they took our towels and we didn't get new ones as they ran out of it, besides we didn't have any problems. There are restaurants nearby with live music so some nights we could hear it from the room.
good location. pool area was nice. breakfast is a la carte but the portion is good and it's tasty. Staff was really helpful and kind. The 2 floor apartment was big enough AC was working perfectly.
