Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyDirty bathrooms without ventilation, uncomfortable bed, location, lots of people cause lots of noise, there was some outsider guy staying outside of the pods, sleeping on the floor so not so secure place. No staff members, you do everything.

United KingdomThe venue isn't very close to the centre, about 35-40 minutes walk and uphill on the way to the Hostel. There is public transport if required, and there's a very nice walk option through green space straight into the central station. It's a hostel. So expect that the shared bathrooms (I can only speak for the men's) are pretty basic and that other inhabitants don't clean after themselves. The showers come hot and strong - towels small. The kitchen is very basic and not really to be used. As no staff are onsite, there is the possibility of the rules being flaunted (2 in a pod - some non booked inhabitants) so you need to be comfortable in that environment - that said, apart from some couples doubling up for privacy I didn't see any issues. The main issue is ventilation. The whole capsule hostel is below ground level - there's no natural light and little in the way of extraction fans, so be prepared for the smell of people at close quarters. There are no communal areas so this is not a place to spend any time other than overnighting in your capsule - but there's plenty to do in Prague, and cafes and bars very close by.
There are lots of comments about capsule hostels - usually from people who feel let down by the experience. There's no doubt that crawling into a little cocoon with all your worldly goods and being locked away from civilization and then at some moment opening the shutter to see what is happening in the world outside, is a strange experience more akin to hibernation that hostelling. Certainly it's not for the nervous, vulnerable or claustrophobic. If the core elements of hostelling - shared bathrooms, scrappy kitchen and little or no private space are acceptable to you, then the capsule experience adds a valuable element of privacy and security without bumping up the cost. The Zizkov Capsule Hostel has all of the good and bad elements. The capsules themselves are pretty clean and well maintained - there's a tendency to overheat as the fan is both noisy and not very efficient. The fully automated access and locking system works well, though I had to contact the help number to understand some of the finer points of the process and it would be good if some notes could be visible on the walls so that visitors can see their way through the process. The mobile phone reliance does put an extra strain on the day as keeping powered up takes on an additional imperative. For cheap accommodation in Prague - with the bonus of being able to leave things locked away in private space during the day, and the feeling that at least while asleep, you're not in shared space - this comes fully recommended as a hostel experience.

United StatesLittle things to make it better. Mats for floor in bathrooms as it can get slippery after someone else takes a shower. It would help to put up a couple more coat racks for jackets. Post a 'quiet' time from 10pm to 7am. I had no problems with any noize but you could put another chair in the 1-10 room and people can chat there. This is not a big thing but still focus on the floor mats and the coat racks to make it better.
It is good value for money. Bed was quite, men's shower was fine. Right next to a bus stop and not far from bus and train station

SpainWell I would really appreciate that if not early check-in option (even for additional charge) , but at least baggage drop off would be possible. The noise of ventilation was too loud even though it was too warm inside. But considering the price you can’t really complain, just for others to know.
Well the price is very cheap, and if you need to spend a night then okay, but it’s not really comfortable.

Czech RepublicThe ventiltor was really noisy and was difficult to fall asleep. I also wonder what happens when your phone dies since it is the only way to open the door.
It’s a cool concept and an option to give you a privacy in hostel and cheap accomodation. 100% automatic check in and entrance with a mobile phone is good when you plan to come late.

IrelandVery little staff presence in itself is not to bad but there were quiet a few undesirable activities going on such as illicit substance use and non paying individuals sleeping in the common area and browsing empty capsules. Only way to deal with this is too have staff check in every 6 to 12 hours as it is unnerving and irritating. Especially people who are quiet clearly under the influence of illicit substances.
Somewhere to sleep after day of activities and being able to lock capsule left a little bit of comfort in your mind that ur possessions are safe

Czech RepublicThe ventilation of the cells is very poor, it is impossible to sleep with the door closed - there is no air. There is no toilet paper in the toilets, they are replenished only once a day in the morning.
The hotel is very clean, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare a full meal, clean bathrooms and toilets, very convenient door control from your phone.

SerbiaIt's noisy, people are self-absorbed, they don't pay attention, if someone is sleeping...The ventilation is noisy, it draws in smells, probably from the non-smoking area outside. So the smell of cigars, grass...goes inside...I see that for a long time guests complain about the ventilation and I don't understand why the owner doesn't fix it...It gets a lower rating unnecessarily...It's hard to sleep without earplugs or headphones...I hope the ventilation gets fixed.
As for the capsule, the bedding is clean, there is enough space. Not bad for sleeping...Toilets are clean.

GermanyFor me personally the chek in and chek out times are quite bad. In my opinion a chek in at 15 o clock is way to late. And the chek out time at 10 o clock way to early. Just out of curiosity I actually waited for someone to come and start cleaning at 10/10:30 but even et 11 o clock no one was there. So I dont understand why the hostel rushes you to leave that early.
I liked the location and the prize for it. For 20€ you can not really be mad at how big the capsule is. I would definetly sleep there again.

Czech RepublicThere is no option to lock your suitcase or other stuff outside the capsule. There were 4 capsules and 6 lockers in the room, but only one had a key to lock it. The rooms and bathrooms are on a different floor.
Everything was clean, 100% functional and quiet. Temperature inside the capsule was around 21°C in november. I got clear instructions before arrival.

GermanyPre Check in came up. Additional registration maybe necessary. But they could have added the 2€ to the accomodation price. Completely irrational was to ask for 20€ deposit. HRS Service answered delayed and passive. Cabin was too warm (outside on the street it was still warm). Without mobile and internet you wont get in. Maybe a USB Charger socket should be placed at the entrance.
There was some technical interest why i came. Bath, shower was fine. No key at all. But make sure your charged mobile is always with you.
