The hotel is amazing. Perfect location on the water, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The staff are lovely and attentive (thank you, George being such a good host and to Metin for his perfect service in the restaurant) and the spa is heavenly. Highly recommend staying here. Very close to Karlovy Vary and easy to get to.

We had a great time at the hotel. It’s located in the forest with a scenic drive from the city, very quiet and secluded. The room (suite) is very spacious, the bathroom beautiful and the bed comfortable. Last but not least, the hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful, really going the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you all!

Czech RepublicRegrettably, we were unaware of the hotel's considerable distance from the city centre, approximately 15-20 minutes by car. Additionally, the receptionist we encountered upon arrival exhibited behaviour that could be described as arrogant, unfriendly, bordering on rudeness. What made us leave. The manager we contacted gave us folowing anwer : "You have not paid anything to our hotel (I paid 2 nights !!) and therefore I do not consider it right that you contact the hotel with this matter. Thank you for your understanding and I wish you more discretion when making future bookings." Unbelievable !!! We paid for 2 nights, did not even stay in the hotel and was asked to f*** off.

GermanyThis is not a luxury hotel. The place does meet the standards of a cheap highway motel. Where did that ultra-high rating on booking.com come from? Ludicrous misdirection. The prices amount to highway robbery. If management didn't force you to pay up front, most guests would turn around and leave upon seeing their rooms, experiencing the nonsensical wellness design (no thermal waters? no cold plunge?), and discovering the general atmosphere within the complex and right through the outside environs to be one incessant downer. Never mind the glossy photos - you will be lodged between two main roads, next to a retaining dam with a view of deforested woodland. I suggest they rebrand themselves as a hospice for assisted dying. That seems a good fit.
The staff are making the best of a terrible situation. They showed real courage in the face of adversity, i.e. having to service a trap that does not live up to what it is sold as being. The Retro Riverside has the innate charm of a second-rate geriatric home.
