I was t sure how to access the property at first; it is obvious when you have been before but not when you’re new! There was a really bad smell of cigarette in the entrance, (although the whole place is not smoking( which is a turn off for me, but no issue in the rest of the property.

A smaller hostel with great old cottage vibe about it! Has a kitchen, lounge, bedrooms with few beds, keeping it cosy.

The stair is kinda narrow so it’s recommended to watch your steps when climbing, but it’s okay to me.

The staff are super nice and friendly, providing sightseeing suggestions. The room is comfortable and clean. With the convenient location, it’s the best choice to have a rest after exploring the city.

Check in hours were a bit strict (morning till 1pm?? and 5pm till 10?)

Easy to find, warm, safe, quiet and comfortable. Clean and near to subway and everything. SPotless kitchen has EVERYTHING you might need. VERY cute old building to itself w/ tiny stairs. You would feel as if you are living in a village rather in the middle of a concrete and glass noisy jungle. Highly recommended even if you eat like a bird (breakky is sparse).

Propert should give an english translated map for trains and buses, including their waiting points after booking it will be very helpful for first-time traveller

Most importantly some noise isolation on the windows would be helpful for a more comfortable stay due to traffic. Breakfast is included and it is quite a basic, cheap and poor one. At least the quality of materials could be increased. Filter coffee instead of powder, a boiled egg perhaps would be kind

I was lucky, since i got the whole room for myself. The room is spacious enough for 6 people, there is even a couch additionally. It was very clean, the checkin was fine and pleasant, there is free coffee/tea. The staff was kind enough. The location gives you a nice walk option around

As a solo female traveler, I feel like an all women's room would have been nice as well, though it worked fine with the mixed room provided too.

The hostel is pretty much right at a subway station from which you can reach most places in cologne easily; a bus stop is near as well. The area it's located in is very quiet, which was nice. The host was very lovely and helpful regarding any questions and finding your way around the city and public transport! He also provided me with a map for the subway / underground as well as a lock for the storage boxes. The included breakfast was nice, too, with a kitchen and supplies as well as some basic breakfast foods, tea and coffee included in the price.

I could see that the owner was quite strict but we didn't experience any unpleasantness or language barrier.

Location was great, very close to public transportation. We liked our 4-person room, everything was clean and comfortable, no issues with water temperature and pressure in the shower. Good kitchen that has everything you need. Check in times are limited, we were running late because of a bus delay but we called the owner and were able to move in slightly later.
