Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were hoping our Wow room would be a bit more wow. It just wasn't. It was cold-looking, clinical and impractical. We only stayed one night so we managed. The shower is in the same wet room as the toilet so the floor is permanently wet as was the toilet. So if you used the toilet in the night you got wet feet as the tiny bath mat was useless. as the whole floor was wet. If you used the loo, the sink was out of the toilet room so you had to go back out to wash your hands before going into the shower for example. There were no hooks in the shower room and very little space by the sink to put anything so it all became a bit of a juggling act which was just annoying and far from luxurious or a treat.
The location was great, the car park very convenient and breakfast was good.

United StatesThe more expensive rooms are almost exactly the same as the cheaper ones. None of the rooms have a view. The room does not have a coffee maker or mini bar, which almost every hotel has. The bathroom is effectively in the bedroom.
The lobby is very pretty and the rooms are clean. The bed is comfy. The check in and check out is very easy.

United KingdomDespite paying for a better room it was small, lacked any form of refreshments, the toilet and shower were glass walled and in the room rather than being a separate area.
Fabulous themed and spacious communual areas, very professional staff and located close to the metro.

GermanyThe pillows were cheap and synthetic. The room was on the ground floor and had a literal wall in front of the window. There was no kettle, no complimentary coffee. Very basic and small and not at all good value for the price.

NetherlandsWe received a voucher for opting out of the cleaning service but we waited for ever to get a drink for them and in the end gave up and went downtown to get a drink at Brusseler Platz, which was great. The staff seem all students with little experience. It would be better to have at least one senior person in the bar to look after the guests. And it was a but noisy at night, with people smoking? outside in front of the hotel all night.
great location, very close to Alt Stadt, but also to Belgischer Viertel and many terraces and bars. Nice atmosphere and own style, different from the big brands. We had a problem with the shower, which was fixed promptly and adequately. Beds, shower and chair were all excellent. They charge only 5 euro extra to charge the car.

NetherlandsUnfortunately I’m pretty sure we received the wrong (smaller) room, it was layed out differently than the one on booking.com. Furthermore, upon arrival we were told there was no parking space which was apparently incorrect when we checked again, so that was unpleasant. Also, the bathroom was not clean. Pretty disappointing

GermanyBreakfast is continental, so no cooked sausage/bacon etc, but plenty of bread rolls, cheese and ham as well as boiled eggs. Coffee was pre-made and in a dispenser, not quite my taste but was ok. No early check in available as it is an automated system so if you are there early you have to wait in the lobby area, but that is quite comfortable.
Staff are amazing and the location is perfect for the centre of town as well as for the Gewoelbe club that is a 10 minute walk away. There is a supoermarket next door for easy access to snacks and water/drinks and the nearest Ubanh station is less than a minute away.

GermanyIt was quite noisy. The room was too small for the big beds, so I kept hitting my legs with the bed corners everytime I passed by. Breakfast was disappointing and quite expensive, 24 Eur. They have also the american system, they ask you to tip, even when the breakfast is a buffet.
Bed was comfortable. Great location. Friendly front desk staff.

SwitzerlandLove the concept, but hate the execution! Overall experience could not have been worse if someone tried. Unable to combine two bookings (same room category and consecutive nights), we not only were locked out of our room but also woken up by an unfriendly front of house staff member after night 1 as accused of overstaying (despite specifically highlighting this upon checkin, and getting new keycards issues in the middle of the night just to avoid such a scenario from happening). This only after housekeeping barging into the room despite the do not disturb sign hanging on the door. This happened every day of our stay - getting disturbed or woken up by housekeeping which when we explicitly asked for the room to be made up - simply did nothing at all. Not once during our 5 night stay did we come back to a cleaned room - and this should be possible despite it being the carnival weekend and it’s not my problem as a guest whom the hotel operator outsources the service to! Further, despite this being a brand new building, the walls separating the rooms are paper thin and being woken up by your neighbours beats as if the music were glaring in your own room - sub-par at best. After 5 days of no housekeeping - the only option we were given upon return to the hotel after a long day at the parade was to move rooms at 2am. And the icing on the cake came when we were woken up but 7h later by a staff member to be informed that another guest on another floor had managed to beeak their in room washbasin and that as it was close to checkout time anyway (we had not taken a shower yet btw!) they had turned off the water to our room completely already. This is an established hotel - and if ‘lean luxury’ means one cannot expect the most basic hotel services - my learning is to rely on the less pricy but cleaned at any hour during carnival motel one rooms. An overall horrible experience not to be repeated sadly.
