The room was oddly furnished with one extremely large uncomfortable plastic rocking chair instead of the normal sitting area one might expect. The hotel seemed to be severely understaffed. Front desk had no personnel in attendance for long periods of time. Even the bartender couldn't find them. In fact, sometimes we couldn't find the bartender either. The location was inconvenient to the city center. In addition to understaffing, the hotel caters to tour busses, so there can be mobs of people demanding attention at the front desk--and they can be pushy. The restaurant was inadequate. It offered only a prix-fixe menu for dinner, no a la carte. There was only ONE starter on the menu, and it was pork -- a dish inappropriate to serve to many kinds of people for various reasons. No credit for skipping it, either. Given the out-of-town location, the only alternative was to get in the car and drive into town for dinner.

When the staff could be found (which was surprisingly hard), they were friendly and helpful. Convenient free parking. The bed was comfortable and (despite the weird furniture) the room was clean and a decent size. There was a nice view of the fjord from the room window. I lost an article of clothing in the parking lot. It was found and turned in, and when we came back to get it, it was even neatly folded!

It took 30 minutes to do the check-in. No apologies from the front desk about this. Furthermore, there was a party in the hotel until 04:00 in the night with very loud music. Very disrespectful to other guests in my opinion. For the personnel you are just a number, nothing more than that. I have been in more than 70 different hotels in the previous 365 days, but I have never seen something like this.

The day I stayed there a bus with around 50 travellers arrived and hijacked the evening dinner. As of the shear number the complete staff management fell apart and only a buffet was offered, even for the regular guests. The selection was rather minimal and getting the attention of a waiter to get any drinks required a lot of patients. A singular case I thought and was surprised to see the same thing happening during breakfast next day. As of simply no space to sit down I choose to sit in the restaurant area offering space and much less noise. When asked by the waiter to go back into the breakfast area in inappropriate manner I refused flat out. My colleage I was waiting for on departure needed three attempts to get his invoice set. Good hotel in general but the staff turns the price per night into a pricy option.

The hotel is located in a quiet area without traffic noise. The surrounding is like a park with lawn and trees located in sight of the waterfront.

Expensive.

Traveled for a sewing course. Very comfortable hotel, I'm guessing standard Danish breakfast, which was also good. I did not know, and was not notified that the hotel restaurant would be closed for an event on 21 May (and Sunday, 22 May). But the receptionist was excellent, trying to find us a place, but everything was fully booked. So, I asked, since there were 8 events going on, and the kitchen responded by preparing dinner plates for my friend and I. We were so thankful - tired and hungry after our class, with nowhere to go to eat!

We were charged 250 DKR/day for our pet. Motivation: extra costs to clean the room. The room was not thoroughly cleaned when we arrived (hair of previous pet). We stayed two days. The cleaning on the first day was "normal". Ik took no more time than normally. If a person/family would stay for say 5 days they would be charged DKR 1250! Our conclusion: we were charged for a service that was not really provided. In other hotels we payed 6 euro or 100/150 DKR. Our last hotel during the journey in Germany (3 nights), the same class as yours charged zero euro for the pet.

The shower drain filled the room with an overpowering stench for 3 days. Reception claimed to have sent a technician in on day two and apparently they 'intended to move us to a clean room', but unfortunately none of this was revealed before we raised the issue for the third time AT CHECKOUT. Not 4 stars in my view!

Breakfast was fabulous, except the coffee. The view gorgeous and the Hotel beautifully designed.

Too many times that I was stuck with no option to eat because the kitchen closes so early and there are no real alternatives. No super market nearby or any option for takeout. If you hadn’t got a chance to eat by 21:00 your only option is peanuts from the bar.
