Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe door lockers were very bad and I got stuck many times. The reception is inside a bar separated from the room area, very hard to get assistance. The elevator was so small and didn’t even go to the last floor so I had to bring bags up by the steps. The beds were made of metal bars, very hard to go to the bed without getting hurt. The light in the room was terrible. Lockers don’t have lock. Bathroom was disgusting, super small and dirty. I decided to don’t stay after seeing the whole facility and had to find another hotel. They did not give my money back but I just couldn’t stay there. Don’t recommend it.

United StatesThe staff was overworked, hence somewhat irresponsible to demands. The room itself is fine, the keypads are pretty nice, but it goes without saying your experience really depends on your fellow roommates. The night I stayed at the hostel, a younger guy in the room smoked & blasted his speaker until 1am, the poor Brazilian girl in the room was tossing and turning. Then at 2:30 am an older guy in the room decided to pee by the window, not only waking everyone up and stinking up the room, but also the urine touched my belongings. I wish I took a photo but I was in such shock and evacuated quickly. The hostel seems to attract a certain type of guests and has little means to regulate their behaviors. I have stayed in plenty of hostels throughout Europe, but this might just be my last. I’d advise any girl on a budget to stay away from mixed dorms, even if it’s the only room left for the hostel, which was the case for me.
Centrally located, extremely vibrant

GermanyThe bathrooms were very dirty all the time. Some of the toilets were blocked and the showers were very dirty too. The room with the capsules was small and theres a hair dryer in the dorm. Why would you put a hair dryer in a room where people are sleeping? Theres no lockers in the rooms and no option to secure your stuff. We had to sleep with our valuable things in bed because otherwise everybody in the dorm could have had access to it. During nights the public area turns into a party place which we also didnt like. The check-in was at the bar so we could not understand the staff at all because the music was so loud. No towels!
One of Copenhagen's cheapest places to stay. We slept in a capsule. The beds were comfy and the check in was very easy with 24h reception. The bar/café downstairs is very nice and cozy during daytime. The capsules are comfy and luckily theres an aircon in every capsule!

United StatesThe bathrooms were extremely dirty and it smelled like dried urine. Some of the toilets wouldn't flush and therefor overflowed and the toilet water was on the floor.
I like the location of the hostel, loved being within walking distance of almost everything!

New ZealandDO NOT STAY IN THE CAPSULES! Capsule hotels are meant to be small but efficient, these were absolutely not. There is nowhere to store any luggage in the room. Listing photos are a lie, the capsules do not have a European plug socket (only a USB port) and there are not ladders to get into the beds (instead upside down milk crates that cut into your feet). On top of all that, there are insufficient bathrooms for the number of people on each floor and the toilets do not refill quickly enough, meaning the toilets are worse than festival portaloos. Our code to enter our floor didn’t work on the first day and again stopped working half way through our stay. This was just criminal.

Kazakhstan1. The music from the bar downstairs was on till 5am and wouldn't let us sleep 2. Toilets wouldn't flush in all the cubicles, it was disgusting. There was only one sink for everyone to use, and by everyone I mean the entire floor. 3. The ventilation in the capsule was loud and therefore useless at night, we had to keep our door open which defeats the purpose of being in a closed capsule in the first place. 4. Any movements on the top bunk sent waves to our lower bunk, which again didn't let us sleep. Overall, an awful experience when we just wanted to sleep for one night. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
the capsule itself was clean.

BelgiumA third of the toilets on the floor were not working. The water in all the shower cabins was clogged, and the temperature was unstable. You had to use high pressure to reach a hot temperature. The sleeping capsule shakes when your neighbor moves.

GermanyInside the capsule there was only USB-C / USB-A plugs. No standard power plugs. However a great reason, to step into the lobby/bar, grap a beer, re-charge the laptop and socialize with the people.
All staff (receptionist, House Keeper, Manager) were welcoming each of the guest nicely. Located in the heart of the copenhager center, few minutes walking to the next metro. I had a capsule room, greate balance inbetween privacy and interaction with the room mates. I have not stayed in a hostel for approx. 15 years. But this stay reminded me of the great memories while I was a student.
