Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyUpon arrival, we were surprised to find that our room was not in the mansion, but instead in another building, likely built in the 1970s, despite having booked with the expectation of staying in the mansion. We also encountered some cleanliness issues in the bathroom, with bugs around the bathtub and floor, which was concerning. Additionally, the absence of a hairdryer in the room was an inconvenience, especially as we were getting married the next day. When we requested one, the response was simply "no," which we found surprising and a bit unaccommodating. We had hoped to relax and unwind at the mansion after our wedding, but it was disappointing to discover that the property operates as a foundation rather than a traditional hotel, which meant there was no room service. When we tried to make a lunch reservation for the following day, we were told it was fully booked. While we understand that this can happen, the fact that this was the only dining option on the property left us feeling unprepared and let down. Additionally, when we asked for recommendations for nearby restaurants, we were not given any suggestions, which added to our disappointment. It’s clear that many guests are local and familiar with the area, but as non-locals, we would have greatly appreciated more guidance in response to our inquiries.
The property itself was beautiful, with lovely grounds that made for a wonderful place to walk and explore. The interiors of the mansion were breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious, offering a nice variety of options to start the day and their wine selection in the evening was good.

NorwayThe annex needs an update and some tender loving care. Unfortunately the room did not match the location and our expectations. We recommend to stay in the main building!
It is a superb location. Love the garden and the art museum. Well worth a trip, enjoy the historic value of this unique property. We will come back in the near future:)

SwedenNothing much to complain about. There are a lot of stairs in this building, so if you have problems with that, this may not be an ideal place.
This is an amazing place. A mansion with plenty of history. A little off the beaten track, so make sure to book a table for dinner in the restaurant. The food was very good. Located in a lovely park with a moat around it. Very picturesque and unique. We stayed in the main building in Bodil de Norregaard’s room with a four-poster bed, not the most comfortable I have slept in but the room was authentic with a lovely view of the park. It was clean. The wifi worked as expected, parking is free and the breakfast was very good. Would recommend for a different experience to your normal hotel nights.

United Kingdomas above the bed linen was uncomfortable. Also staff could do with selling the property and activities around the hotel, they couldn’t really be bothered.
it was a beautiful location, great place for walking and enjoying nature. We also really enjoyed the museum which is right next door. The room we stayed in was large but the bathroom was disappointingly small. The bed was comfortable but the eco friendly linen was terrible, so uncomfortable on the skin, so really needs improvement. We enjoyed a superb dinner in the restaurant and would highly it. The breakfast was also very good.

Very beautiful hotel in the middle of a huge park, close to the sea shore. The hotel is an old castle very well maintained. We also loved the breakfast, lot's of choices and very good products.

BelgiumPricy to stay there, but especially the dinner was very expensive. Desserts were not really delicious.
You have to go there for the atmosphere: to stay overnight in a real castle. The interior and exterior were very nice and radiates the atmosphere of a Danish castle. Nice garden and nice walking trails in the neighborhood. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Dinner was served in one of the rooms in the castle in a nice atmosphere. Good healthy breakfast and included in the price.
