How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Asked for a room high up - was informed that would cost extra as room 415 on 4th floor was renovated. It did not seem renovated at all - somewhat warn out - very low pressure on water in shower. Wanted to take a bath in the tub - took ages. Asked 2 people at receipton if really room 415 was renovated or a joke. 3rd time asking on check up - nice you receptionist asked if I wanted a soda water as compensation :-)
Fairly big breakfast - missing honey for the cereals and yoghour

Because the building was old noise could travel a lot when people moved in the halls or their rooms if they were close by

Bathroom got wet all over when i took a bath. Some of the power outlets did not seem to function properly. The staff did not inform us about paid parking upon arrival.

The team was very helpful (specially for the parking) The room is very good despite the thin walls (neighbor who coughs) with usb connetion (but no fridge) The parking (if available) is right next door and costs 100dkk for 24 hours (with the qr code at the hotel reception or 120dkk via easypark) very good breakfast.

There was a kettle and tea/coffee stand missing from the room. The shower gel was very small to share for two people.
Very good location. Comfortable beds, nice sitting area with a coffee table in the room.

Breakfast options and quality of food was just average. Hotel needs some maintenance and more cleaning. For instance all windows seem to not have been cleaned for a long while. Furniture and bathroom very old.

The room was small and the bathroom very small. It was noise from the street
The location was very good, the bed very confortabile, continental breakfast quite variate. Parking available in the interior courtyard.

Parking should be included in the costs (for the hotel guests) The position of the room (that was the last of a long corridor)

I had a great stay at this historic hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful!! Apparently the hotel was recently renovated and it's done in a tasteful way. My room (215) was spacious and clean and had a great design, love the bedside lamps!! The bed itself was really comfortable and the bathroom had a bath. The breakfast was good, with enough options to choose from. If you like historical hotels, then this is the place for you in Aalborg!!

Our room was right by the hotel parking which led to a lot of noise. The room was also very hot at night.
Very kind and helpful staff. Clean rooms with good space. Easy to travel with dog, our entrance to the room was from the outside.

Old elevator, don't know if it worked. I was advised to take the stairs, but it turned out that there was also a long corridor and then another stairs down to get to the room furthest from the reception. At the breakfast I could not find butter.
Pleasant service. Good breakfast with quiet music in the background. Good room if you like old style. Centrally located.
