Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe staff didn’t really explain anything to me. After confirming that this was my first stay, they just showed me where the elevator was. No info about check-out procedure or time. No info about the fact that Apple TV in the room wasn’t working. Also, the shower in the bathroom was leaking…

DenmarkCheck-in was incredibly slow and poor! Check in opens at 15:00, so arrived at that time. Queue was already long with only 2 check-in staff, on a Saturday! We waited around 15 minutes. Queue was out the door within that time, with no effort to bring more staff to help. Really poor. Hallways are dark and depressing. Room was worn. Bathroom was not thoroughly clean. Really grubby, dirty bath mat (non-slip plastic bath mat), didn’t even want to touch it! Mirror and tiles were splattered with stains, maybe toothpaste. Shower was complicated and annoying to use. Bath was a high step up/ down.
Good location, good size room.

GermanyFor the first trip to Denmark, to say that this hotel experience was bad is an understatement. Expensive parking costs aside, the dog accommodation cost 30 Euros per night - for NOTHING to be offered in exchange, and on top of that so that my dog almost chokes on the uncleaned items laying in the hotel room, such as decorative clothing items and a contact lens! Upon the check in, the room was not fully clean, with greasy fingerprints on the night lamp, hair in the bathroom and a dirty towel! Had to go downstairs to the reception and was handed the new towels by the receptionist, while I was in my outdoor jacket. We have luckily gotten room upgrade the next day, where we found a connecting door to the other hotel room - as it turned out later, the door was open from both sides the whole time, it was good that we noticed it and informed the guests in the neighboring room! It took a while for the staff to find the right key, but in the end the doors have been closed. To support the initiative of minimizing cleaning, I have registered for a drinks voucher in advance instead of daily cleanings - for three nights us two were offered ONE drink voucher, which, as it later turned out, was for KIDS! But that's not all - we just now unpacked our luggage and the barista gave us an EXPIRED DRINK! For every inconvenience, we had to constantly go downstairs or contact the reception, only to be offered other ineffective solutions or be told that the receptionist is alone and we have to go downstairs. For just a 3-night stay for New Years, and a very long ride, this was a total disaster. The hotel needs to FULLY renovate the interior design, and maybe consider upskilling the staff on guest complaint resolution.
Breakfast was nice, with an option to get to-go hot drinks, as well as champagne (for NY days). The location of the hotel is very central, all the restaurants and spots for sightseeing are 10 minutes away.

SingaporeIt is a little far from Aarhus H, if you are travelling with a large suitcase like me then not advisable. The walkways contains rough cobblestone squares and dragging the luggage is very challenging. My room was facing the carpark direction and it was super noisy at night. The hotel room looks tired and old it needs some refurbishing. The shower head in the room is abit wonky. The only plus point is the room is spacious.
The staffs are friendly and helpful

NetherlandsThe initial room we received was extremely dirty, so much dust I could write in it with my finger, and the toilet wasn't clean. We asked to change rooms but were told there were no rooms to available to accommodate us. He sent a cleaner but that wasn't helpful since the room needed a deep clean. The next morning we tried again and a different concierge found us another room immediately. We also received a 20% discount. However, the overall experience was disappointing.
The overall experience was disappointing, we received an extremely dirty room that probably hadn't been cleaned in a while (dust, pubes in the toilet), but thankfully the second concierge we complained to changed our room (the first one wasn't helpful). On a positive note, the second room was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was good.

NorwayThe ceiling in the shower in standard rooms is about 195cm. I know because my head touched the ceiling when I was standing in the shower. Hence tallish people simply can't stand upright in the shower. They offered me a "handicapped room" (as referred to by the employee) that had more headspace. Unfortunately, the first room I was offered wasn't clean. The bathroom smelled like urine and the toilet had a hair. The third room I was offered (again a "handicapped room") was ok, although it was on the first floor while my original room had been on the top floor with a better view.
