Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Guatemalait was dirty, the room was noisy, doors slamming all the time, shower had a leak which produced a puddle near the beds, jacuzzi and tv were not working. food was cold and old, tables were dirty, coffee machines weren’t working at all which ended up serving an ugly coffe tasting liquid that was not coffee. A la carte restaurants were a complete mess. Had a reservation at the Coral restaurant at 19:30, got there at 19:15 and had to wait for my table while other people just walked in late or even wothout a reservation. Once seated, my order took more than an hour to get served and it was cold… please do something to specify that when you prder the lobster bisque ravioli, you are actually receiving ONE SINGLE RAVIOLI with a lot of cold red sauce, the same with the childrens menu and the fish sticks, which is served with 1 stick and a buch of cold french fries.
The location, the beach and the pools.

GermanyFood, food and food. The fact that they offer a 12 restaurant selection does not mean that the food is good. We tried the Japanese, Italian and steak house and these are only available for dinner plus you dont really get the opportunity to order seconds since the service is super slow. The beverage selection is very limited and with low quality. For lunch and breakfast is the open menu that offers very bad food, I mean I do not consider myself a picky person but I felt like I could only eat the fresh fruit. I was expecting much more for an all inclusive like this place, and I will try to keep this review brief but just DO NOT come here for the FOOD.
The location is great, the room is clean and the facilities work very well. I wish that compensated to the fact that the food is awful. I have to say that I was mislead by all reviews that gave a 5 star rating to this place. The food is just so bad that you cannot wait to leave the hotel and get some basic yet good quality meals.

Mexiconot the property. But the service was really bad, and the food even worst. I got intoxicated with something I eat in the hotel and the staff was not able to give any support. In addition, we make a reservation in one of the restaurants and we have to wait outside for 40 minutes. there was no explanation…
all new and in a very good condition.

United StatesThe food was not that great. For the price paid I was expecting more. The hours of the buffet are also weird. The staff at the restaurant took a long time to attend, even though you make reservations so that you are guaranteed a table when you walk in.
The size of the room is nice. The balcony gives it that extra touch and the bathroom as well. The pool was maxing. The swim up bar is really nice and the activities team had events every afternoon!

BrazilIn general everything was amazing, the food is not excellent that's true, but is more than ok. Above I included my recommendation for the best restaurants/period of the day. What we didn't like much was the main buffet area (Miramar and Bohio Domenicano - there are tow buffets one next to the other). They are 'ok' if you show up when they open, but after half an hour, is not worth it any longer. It get SUPER crowded. The staff does a decent job trying to keep up, but is simply too many people trying to get their food. Extra fares in general: * Some activities are paid, we didn't go for any of it as it didn't seem to be worth it. Seemed expensive for what they were. * Wines: you get offered a list of wines on the a La Carte restaurants, unless you want something special, that's not needed. They've got decent wines on the all inclusive package. * USpa: the services looked nice, but seems pricy. $85 for a 25min massage didn't seem to worth it. The USpa area though is super worth it, but as mentioned above, is included on the Premium Level fare. They have a daily pass ($40).
What an amazing time we had, everything was worth it. Premium access: If you have the chance to opt for it , definitely do, among the benefits of it: * unlimited access to the USpa area which has sauna, pools, towels, water bottles and fruits all day. * premium level room where you can go to for anything (even for a snack, breakfast, champagne coffee). * beach towels on your room (for non-premium you've got a card that you exchange for a towel everyday). * unlimited access to both Adults Only (Bavaro Beach) & the main hotel (Bavaro Palace). This is actually great, as there are exclusive restaurants in each. Food and Drinks: * Before my stay I saw a lot of bad reviews about it, to be fair is not horrible but is not great. Over the days we found the right schedule/restaurants: Breakfast: Caribe (Bavaro Beach Adults Only): always fresh food, being constantly watched over. Lunch: La Brisa (Bavaro Beach Adults Only): great options of Paella (meat and seafood) everyday, some pasta, pizza, burgers, salad and fruits as well. Dinner: a La Carte restaurants, being the best ones: Chez Gourmet (Adults Only), Mexico Lindo (Mexican), La Fuente (Spanish), Kyoto (Japanese). Note: Coral and Santa Fe are similar to buffets, you've got same food as the buffet for starters and desserts. Main dish wasn't good. * Drinks: all local brands included. Premium liquor has extra fares. Staff, Pools, entertainment area and the hotel in general: * There are a LOT of people working at the hotel. Most of them pay attention to your needs and are polite. * Pools are simply stunning, always clean and beautiful. * There are many activities during the day (table tennis, chess, bowling/games (extra fare), kayak, catamaran (extra fare), pedal boat, beach volleyball and football/soccer. * Casino is ok, not the greatest fun but good to spend some time and money there.

United StatesI did not like the how disorganized this place was, i felt like i was entering a Circus, how rude one of the manager was, whomever hired him does not have any idea of Management requirements and skills, the condition of the rooms was disappointing, paint pealing off the sealing, dirty towels when we received the rooms, blow dryers and tvs not working. I don’t know how did this hotel get almost five stars rating? My qualifications will be 2.5 to 3 max!
I liked the beaches and the food in some of the restaurants

United StatesThe staff made it hard to enjoy. We had dinner at El Coral, La Brisa, and Mirador, but La Brisa was the only restaurant we enjoyed. El Coral and Mirador isolated us from everyone, took forever to tend to us, and our food was horrible. We also had issues with our booking and they weren't willing to be accomodating at all. Our originally booking was a junior suite mear the adult only section of the resort, but they put us in the family section of the resort after making us wait for almost 2 hours (100% changing the atmosphere we were looking forward to). At the end of our stay we had to argue with staff to not charge us for towels that were left in our rooms which was what we were told to do by the staff member servicing the pool. Overall the facilities could not make up for the lack in accommodating and attentive staff.
The resort itself is beautiful. And the food, drinks and staff at La Brisa were amazing.

United Stateseverything. the room had termites, they came and sprayed 5 times. we were breathing in all the fumes they said they didn’t have another room for us. The termites came back, we took pictures and showed the front desk they said once again they were sending someone else out to spray, he didn’t do anything just brought the cleaning lady and gave her the same pray the last person used. we went back and told the front desk then finally after waiting downstairs for hours they finally movers our room. the service was terrible. there were termite droppings in the new room as well. they were in our luggage when we got home. we had to get new tooth brushes while we were there because the termites were on our tooth brushes. we threw our luggage away once we saw them when we were unpacking. the resort was suppose to be adults only, however there were kids everywhere, in the adult pool, everywhere on the adult side of the beach. also they said there was 24hr room service but when you called it was busy or they let the phone ring a lot of times then picked up just to hang up the phone so you call back and the line is busy again. the service in the restaurant was terrible, no one was pleasant or tried to be accommodating. I planned this trip for my girlfriends birthday and I really wanted it to be special but it turned out to be a nightmare.

United StatesI wished they had more activities for the kids. The arcade, bowling alley, and escape room were relatively small and always packed. The food was a hit and miss for me; it was very bland at sometimes. The beach was full of seaweed, but staff were working diligently to keep it clean. They were removing it daily by the truck loads.
The resort was lovely and always clean and maintained. The pools were beautiful, clean, and inviting. Customer service was top-notch!! The spa was amazing and worth the price.
