Dominican RepublicWhen a tourist visits another country wants to enjoy the contrys' cultures such as language and music . I asked the DJ in the pool to play a little salsa merengue and bachata and they told me that it's against the hotel policy to play Spanish music. I and others guess thought that the hotel is "RACIST" this is a Spanish speaking country and that makes it worse . They told me that if we want to hear Spanish music to wait till 11 pm at the terrace, we did and for an hour every one danced and had fun. Ps boring entertainment too quiet at the beach and pool area .

Staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. Room was very clean and had a great view of the pool. Love that the pool ran throughout the property and every section was different so you could choose how quiet or loud you wanted it. The hibachi at the Jade restaurant was excellent serivng a ton of food.

CanadaThe staff were rude, the resort was closing due to renovations which is greatly needed, but from the moment we landed staff did not know whether we would stay at jewel punta Cana or jewel palm beach we spent 2 hours at the airport while staff tried to figure that out. We finally got taken to jewel punta cana and we were told the resort was running at 50% capacity, and restaurants and bars would be closing we were told we could switch to jewel palm beach the next day I went to reception to switch to the other resort, and then we were told we couldn’t transfer until Tuesday our travel dates were from the 5-12 so the move would happen in the middle of our stay, but with how things were running at jewel punta cana we decided to move anyway. The day of the move came, went to reception they told me they had no confirmation of us moving to jewel palm beach, they moved us anyway get to the Jewel palm beach they had no information from jewel punta cana about our move it took them 5 hours to get us a room, when we finally did get a room our patio door fell on my husband luckily he didn’t get hurt! Our bathroom door didn’t close properly, and the bed was broken! We pretty much lost 2.5 days out of our trip with all the running around, all the staff kept saying was that it wasn’t their problem! We received better treatment from staff at jewel palm beach, but by the time actually got settled there we only had 2 days left of our vacation. I feel like they should have sent us an email explaining what was happening before we went there, and they should have offered a refund. Our vacation is over now, and I feel like this caused so much stress on my family and myself.
