Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesHot tub heater did not work, and it sounded like this was an ongoing issue. If that's the case, they should update site to reflect this. TV also did not work, they said it was a signal problem, but also seemed like it might be an ongoing issue.
Great pool/social area, especially for kids. Food and drinks were good enough, and staff was friendly, although service was slow (but this is not unusual for the for DR). Wifi worked well enough to stream, which is good since there was no TV signal. Right across the street from Bani dunes, which is why we chose it.

Dominican RepublicThe sheets gave my wife allergies because of the detergent they use to wash them, you can smell it by just sitting on the bed, another thing was the hot tub needs to be cleaned in order for the guest to use it, we filled up with water but when we turned it on it was full of algae and we couldn't use it
I liked the location because it's located close to majority of the places to visit around the area, is right in front of the Dunes and 15 to 20 minutes away from the beach.

United KingdomThe light in the bathroom didn’t work, after running the shower for 20 minutes the water was only tepid, none of the blinds worked properly and despite having a kitchen area there was nothing to cook or eat with (apart from plates, bowls and cups) - not even a teaspoon! Service in the restaurant area was very slow - the staff only seemed interested in serving large groups. Even at breakfast when only 6 people were in tie restaurant are the service was very slow and staff didn’t think to look outside to see customers arriving.
Very pretty gardens and public areas. Perfectly located for visiting Las Dunas. Easy to find. Accommodation was comfortable. The food was nice and the owners were friendly.

Dominican RepublicThe room's jacuzzi was malfunctioning and wasn't fixed while we were there. A swarm of mosquitos during the night. The staff needs to be more aware of the attention and service of the guests.
In front of the dunes, close to the beaches and the town. They prepare delicious food. Beautiful place to take pictures.

Dominican RepublicThe kitchen area was swelteringly hot despite curtains drawn - an overhead fan may have helped. Mosquito's by the million - but that isn't the property's fault ... bring repellant if you have, but there is repellent offered at reception too.
There was a constant breeze off the sea so comfortable to escape the heat. The airconditioning inthe bedroom was very welcome and it would have been impossible without it at night. The jacuzzi on the balcony was novel touch - not really needed but a cute addition. Kitchen was well enough equipped although we didn't cook. The property is right at the entrance to the dunes, so very convenient for a visit - but I strongly suggest going at 8am as they open as it gets very hot!! Nice to walk back from dunes and be able to take a shower or swim to cool down. Food was generally good.

We have been going to the Dominican Republic for years, and Sava Salinas is the most comfortable of all the resorts we've stayed in. Samuel and his lovely wife were always there if we needed anything, the mood was tranquil, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. (They have the best churrasco I've ever eaten.) The location is beautiful, the resort is clean, clean, clean, and the ocean breezes keep you cool no matter what the temperature might be. We had a jacuzzi right on our deck overlooking the water and we languished in it every day. (My wife even fell asleep in there!) On our first honeymoon I got Covid, so we needed to do it over again. We could not have chosen a more romantic place to experience our second honeymoon than Sava Salinas. 💖 If you're looking for someplace where you can relax and feel the love, Sava Salinas is that place!

United StatesThe room was very small. The shower floor was level with the rest of the bathroom floor and every shower left the entire bathroom flooded. When my wife and I showered together, the bedroom floor was wet as well. Above the sliding glass door entrance, there was an open hole which allowed mosquitos into the room. The television remote worked for one night, then all channel changes required getting up and changing the channel circa 1971. I ordered dorado for dinner and received a snapper with what would best be described as elementary school frozen vegetables and re-heated rice. My wife ordered pasta with shrimp and got a flavorless bowl of noodles. With two glasses of chinola, the two person meal was 4,700 RD ($90). The chinola was great! I took 9 children and 5 adults out the prior night at for $212 US at BAHIA DE LOS PIRATAS with lobster in the mix! Also not sure why the attendants took photos of the food plates before serving it… you be the judge? Also, never a good idea to take photos of payment credit cards and identification cards on a personal cell phone… My legal folks have been notified……
The location is on the water and very quiet except for the kitchen noise until 9pm.
