It is not modern or fancy. I was surprised that cash payment was required.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The location was perfect for us, beach across the street and nearby hiking trails.

Drinking water was inside the restaurant, which was closed quite often. Virtually no wifi in the room. Ants in the bathroom, sometimes many. Not cheap.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabana !! Elisabeth was really nice and helped us with all the activities. Besides that the rooms have been cleaned every day. The place is directly in front of the beach and it’s a beautiful short walk to the Center. We would definitely come back.

We booked a cabana but was not available and we had a family room on the street so it was a bit noisy, and very very simple. Bathroom was quite tiny

The room was very difficult to cool as it was large and had no proper door. The Aircon was quite loud as well.

It was very close to Playa Mann, the rooms were spacious and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was also a short talk to the center of San Cristobal.

Talk about false advertising! The newer building in the back looks very nice but we stayed in Cabana Espanola which is clearly suffering from neglect and is not at all as advertised. We are experienced travelers, backpackers, campers, but even for us this was too rustic - especially given the cost. It is such a shame because it could be really cute with a little bit of work. I would say 2 of the 10 amenities listed were accurate. A single bare bulb illuminates the big room and an elaborate light fixture with 6 bulbs is in the small room. The room ac unit has no vent pipe so it blows cool air out the front and hot air out the back into the room. There was a cable cord but no TV (didn’t need a TV but it was listed). Tiny bathroom with an electric shower head that was supposed to create hot water but didn’t. The kitchenette was serviceable but not what we would call “fully stocked” we thought about asking for a refund but since we paid cash up front and saw many reviews saying dealing with the owner was a lost cause we didn’t bother. Maybe if this was half the price it would have been worth it. Staff on site were very nice and cleaned the room daily so it’s not their fault. Clearly this is an ownership issue

While not right on the beach, it is very close to Playa Mann and an easy walk to the trails to Cerri Tijeretas and Baquerizo beach. Easy walk to and from town. Had space for 4 of us and a little kitchen for DIY meals. Overall not as advertised

There were coming a lot of bugs (Big Ants, Centipedes and spiders) and I even found bugs on the bed and the shower floor. We did not had enough toilet paper and when we needed to ask for it or do the check out, there was nobody there. Also there was a weird smell on one of the cabins and on the other the ventilation was really loud. In one Cabins there were just 1 Plug for charging devices (camera, phone).

It is pretty rustic. There are a lot of fire ants in the bedrooms which didn’t seem to bother us but it is a bit alarming at first.

The owner is so incredibly kind and attentive. The location is fantastic! Very close to playa Mann and the Darwin center.

VERY PROBLEMATIC OWNERSHIP. Located remotely, Elizabeth was dishonest, deceptive & ill-mannered. Hardly know where to begin. I first booked Cabana Espanola before getting them to admit there isn't a sea view from that room (the sunset view pictured simply does not exist). She then agreed to change my booking to the Triple Rm (only one with an actual sea view) at the current price offered, but then kept the booking the same and the triple room available here for others to book. So I canceled the cabana, booked the triple, and she then tried to refuse to honor the original price for it! As well, they offer a rate for booking the Triple as 1 guest but then try to refuse to honor that rate, saying how can they book a room meant for 3 to just 1?! WELL THEN DON'T OFFER IT THAT WAY! Upon arrival they even tried to trick me into checking in to a different room. :-\ Incredible. As well, as other reviewers mention, they say they accept Debit/Credit Cards for payment but then DEMAND CASH ON ARRIVAL. I soon found out I was not the only one there who was having the same problem because I actually saw Elizabeth SHOUTING ANGRILY FOR 10 MINUTES AT ANOTHER GUEST saying Booking.com is just for booking and that they HAD TO PAY CASH. After seeing that and with my other experience, I avoided her the rest of my visit not wanting to get abused the same way. She then sent me harassing emails and went as far as to DECLARE ME A NO-SHOW to try to avoid paying commission on my booking and prevent me leaving a review!! Just wow. I complained to Booking.com, provided evidence of my stay, got the No-Show reversed and my ability to review restored! This was easily one of the most unpleasant experiences with any owner of a place I've ever had. Really too bad because the place has great potential and the local staff (Judith & children) were very nice. I feel sorry for them.

Location and View (from Triple Room): Note that only the TRIPLE ROOM has a proper view of the sea. All the other rooms & cabanas are almost entirely blocked from the sea by trees and buildings. Deceptive how they promote the "sea views".

Two of us booked a room at this hotel (many months ahead of our stay) and when we booked, it was clearly indicated that we could pay by credit card. On the day before our arrival, to our surprise the landlady suddenly informed us that credit card would not be accepted. That did not make a difference for me, but this was problematic for my friend. When he inquired about it and asked why credit card would not be accepted (despite the e-mail from Booking.com telling otherwise), the landlady told him that he could cancel if he did not like it and could find another accommodation. One day before the arrival was obviously not an option and despite my friend not being pleased about it, he specifically told the landlady not to cancel his booking. Yet that is exactly what she did and when we arrived, she refused to honor the booking, so my friend was left stranded ! It clearly became obvious to us why she did this: by booking months ahead, the rate was much lower for him. So she used his questioning of the credit card payment as an excuse to cancel his booking (something he never agreed) and re-booked the room for a much higher rate to another customer ! In summary, the owner of this place has dishonest practices so be aware before booking it.

We gave the owner the exact time of our arrival and waited on the street for more than half an hour when someone will come to check us in. We even asked next door business owner to call them The unit had a kind of popcorn interior walls that were covered with old dust and looked grey, but white. As for drinking water, we had a 5-gallon bottle without any dispenser. Try to imagine how easy to pour some water from this heavy monster into our small bottles. According to the condition, the property accepts Visa and Mascardcardsd as paymmethodsthod. But the owner forced us to pay cash only. When we were told that we don't have the cash it became our 3 days problem - we emailed back and forth, and we had to go to the city, and meet some guy who can accept the payment with this guy we walked to some grocery store - it didn't work but we waste at least 3-4 hours of our time. Finally, the owner said that we had to pay about $60 more if we want to pay by credit card. So I had to call Booking.com customer service who told us that the amount on our booking is final and we don't have to pay any extra fees.

We like the location, comfort and clean room, very good breakfast. We have nice ocean view from the room. The owner is very helpful and ready to help with the surroundings of the town, excursions and walks. Internet works fine. Hot water in the bathroom. Room cleaning every day. An exceptional place. I recommend.
