Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsEverything was good!
Great location, friendly staff, delicious food, hot shower. We had a room with a view of the mountains, beautiful! Amazing to have some luxury during the Quilotoa loop.

HungaryIt's one of my nicest accommodations on my whole 5 month trip in South America so far. You can totally relax after a long day of hiking. The common areas are very welcoming. You have free tea and coffee the whole day, and also free yoga classes. And for a small fee you can use the wellness area. The food is very delicious. To spend the evening next to the fireplace is amazing.

United KingdomWe stopped here whilst walking the Quilotoa loop and was a wonderful oasis of comfort! Hot showers, cosy living rooms, INCREDIBLE selection of games, lovely spa you can use for $5 (although steam room and sauna never really got hot when we used it), and free yoga twice a day to stretch out tired muscles. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and filling. Only qualm is the packed lunch which we found incredibly overpriced at $6.50, and not that great.

United StatesLuckily queues hours are observed, if your room is in main area you hear all the noise. I had a budget single room, not good airflow. The steam room and sauna are great to have, but do not reach good heat.
The common area’s are beautiful! The staff is top notch, offering free yoga is major bonus!

CanadaThis isn't something we DIDN'T like, but it would have been really cool to meet the ladies who cooked our meals. I very much appreciated the delicious food and would have liked to 1) know if it was traditional Ecuadorian food or where it came from and 2) who our cooks were, as they deserved a huge round of applause at the very least. That cultural connection would have been cool to have!
This was one of the best places I've ever had to pleasure to lay my head. We stayed one night here while hiking the Quilotoa Loop, and what a piece of heaven this place was! Had we known, and had we had more time, we would have stayed two nights just to enjoy the facilities and chill out for an entire day in this beautiful resort. The main building and adjoining cabins/rooms are cozy, warm and inviting. Christian upgraded us to a private room without our prompting and we were just over the moon. The beds were cozy, the shower was hot and the free tea/coffee in the lounge was a nice touch. The home-cooked food (both supper and breakfast) was fantastic and an absolute God-send after a good day of hiking in the rain. The jacuzzi in particular was very much appreciated. I absolutely loved the packed lunch that I ordered for next day's hike (tuna sandwich, homemade cookies, chips, candies and an apple). The paper maps/descriptions of each day's hike were a nice touch, as were the homemade knit scarves and tuques. All in all, we would have gladly stayed a few extra days. Can't say enough good things. Lovely hospitality, beautiful rooms, stunning landscaping.

United StatesKind staff, well located for the Quilotoa loop. The hostel was comfortable, had an amazing view, and the food was so good! I ordered the llullu sandwich to go for lunch the following day, and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The breakfast and dinner were filling and I was surprised by the variety. Hot water and free daily yoga twice a day.

NetherlandsBeautifully situated in the mountains, the hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff is kind and welcoming. I loved the yoga classes with Silke and the jacuzzi after a day of hiking. The bed was extremely comfortable with a fluffy duvet instead of those thick heavy ones you often get at hotels in this region. The food was incredible and there was always a vegetarian dish for me. I stayed 2 nights but could've easily stayed longer if I had the time.
