Particular shoutout to the staff at Itza Hotel, they were so helpful with all sorts of things. From restaurant and activity recommendations, to booking spa treatments, and sorting out after hours snacks. They were so kind and lovely!

Gorgeous large rooms with great amenities. Helpful staff. The location is excellent, one block from the main square. Breakfast was excellent, and I enjoyed the rooftop bar as well.

New ZealandLocation is excellent to the main attractions of Cuenca. The rooftop cafe has a wonderful view. The staff were super attentive and happy all the time. Always helpful and seemed to really like their jobs and interactions. Rooms are quiet as double glazing keeps the road noise out. All furnishing and appointments high end. Bathroom great. Food was great. We ordered room service breakfast as with an infant it was easier and was fresh and delicious.

Amazing hotel. Situated in the center of the city! Staff are so acomodating and friendly! Facilities are comfortable. Bed, pillows were so fantastic. Breakfast has no wide choice but it the same in all Equador.

United Statesa bit noisy. the central staircase carried noise up and down. The key for light situation was pretty bad. even with the key in the slot, we needed to be able to turn the main light off and leave the key in the slot so that we could turn on lights in the bathroom. Not a great design.

United StatesThe first night we had an issue turning off the lights because we couldn’t find all the light switches - a couple of key ones were located waaayyy behind the headboards for the beds. Someone had to come up from reception after 11pm to help us find them (reception didn’t even know where the light switches were, because they were not in a logical location). The issue was eventually resolved, and the hotel apologized, but at a hotel of this level (and price!) you would expect important details like this to be up to par. As others have also mentioned, the window and door of the room are not soundproof, so we could hear some noise from the street and the lobby. It wasn’t overwhelming and mostly subsided shortly after midnight (on a weekend), so we were still able to sleep, but better insulation would help. Finally, the beautiful bathroom had a heated floor, which we loved, but it basically took all night to heat up to a noticeable / pleasant temperature, so that seemed a bit inefficient.
The location was great, the breakfast was amazing, and the decor of the hotel was just lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
