The quality and reliability of the WiFi was fairly poor - it tended to drop out when moving around the hostal and was often very slow. The kitchen, whilst useable, is in need of some tlc (for example the fridge freezer, oven and stove has seen better days). It would have been great if there was some free coffee as there was a coffee machine. The property is about 1km about of town which isn’t the end of the world as the island is very safe, it is a quick walk and taxis are cheap but it is worth bearing in mind if you want to be in the middle of town. The hostal didn’t seem to have warm showers although that isn’t unusual for South America.

The hostal is well decorated with murals of animals and is clean (although there seemed to be an issue with some ants in the room) and well kept with comfortable beds with nice blankets. Rooms have air conditioning and the owner, Carlos, is friendly and helpful. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are of a good size. Someone comes in each day to make the bed and replace the towels which is great. The kitchen area has a couple of hammocks and nice views towards the sea. It’s a quiet part of the island and is a great place to relax. Carlos will meet you at the airport and will pay for a taxi to the airport (otherwise about $3) which is a nice touch and eliminates some of the hassle of arriving in an unfamiliar place.

The rooms were up two flights of stairs with no elevator (of course); a bit off the beaten track (which is good and bad)

The greeter was extremely friendly and sat us down and told us all about the island and things we could do. Ability to make our own food (shares stove and refrigerator); I loved the painted walls and art work decorations everywhere; it was in a neighborhood with a good, inexpensive non-touristy restaurant a few doors down

The location wasn’t ideal. If I were to return to San Cristobal, I would stay closer to the town and beaches. The water was quite cold during my stay. This place is fine for just spending the night but not ideal for extended stays.

The owner picked us up from the boat, and explained everything we needed to know about san cristobal. The communal area is nice with a fridge and a water cooker, and you can refill your bottles from the tap because they have a filter installed to prevent more plastic use.

Kitchen is small and the cooler wasn’t in the best condition but still usable. Not necessarily a problem with the hostel but they recommended a place for us to do laundry and when we had difficulty getting our clothes back they didn’t offer any help with the situation despite us asking. Again, not their fault but would have been nice to get some help given we went to a place they recommended.

Beautiful location with amazing view. Lovely big room with great shower. Shared kitchen is handy. Host picked us up from the ferry which was amazing as we were feeling rough after the journey.

Great host who arranged a free airport transfer for us when we arrived and took the time to tell us about San Christobal. The room was comfortable, clean as well as the common kitchen area. The location of the hostel is a bit off in relation to the city center, but considering it only takes about 10-15 minutes to walk down to the center, it's reasonable. San Christobal, just like the rest of Galapagos, is safe to walk around.

absolutely gorgeous! Carlos personally picked me up from the airport and told me EVERYTHING I needed to know about the island (wildlife, what tours there were, etc.). Room super clean and was cleaned daily - fresh towels every other day (actually didn't have to be). even the wifi works well. soooo great friendly atmosphere in fantastic design (all the paintings on the walls)! definitely a feel-good place

Nothing that is their fault just to be aware of. We travelled with a two year old and the gaps between the railing of the balcony/open area were wide so the kid could have fallen. I was a little on edge about that, but again, not the locations fault.

We just loved the vibe of the place and the view of the ocean in a distance. It is a little bit of a walk from town but cabs are reasonably priced to make the way back home. The rooms are up on the third floor - great view but you need to walk up the stairs to get to your room.
