How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no toilet paper or dishwashing liquid.
Simple, comfortable, in the city center. Worth the money. 👍

The soft piece on the bed was falling out of place a lot, which makes you feel a bit uncomfortable because you're either falling down with it or sleeping on 2 different levels until you fix it.
I booked a bed in a double room. Everything was great, the room (and apartment) was clean, kitchen was big enough to comfortably cook something, the bathroom and WC was alright. There was a store 2-3 min walk away from the back entrance. The bus station was around 15 minutes away, there was a shortcut to one of the historical streets in the city center.

The place is a student apartment converted into a hostel. The room was enormous and completely clean. Common kitchen for 3 rooms, with refrigerator. Excellent location near the bus station. Lobby open 24/7. All this for only 36€! Best value for price ever. This is not the place to go if you want to spend time in your accommodation. However, if you need a place to sleep and eat own snack, then this hostel is superb.

It was wonderful for the receptionist to ask me if I'm fine with sharing the common area (apartment) with 2 men as a woman. Didn't bother me at all as I basically just came in, slept, checked out in the morning and didn't even meet them. But it was nice and considerate for them to ask me. Will definitely recommend this place to other people and maybe someday I'll come to Tartu again and stay here if possible. The are was spacious, had a good bathroom and a shower I did not use and a small kitchen to cook food.

Everything was perfect. That is a usual student dormitory, but the room was clean, more or less comfortable, with shared kitchen and great location. A good option for its money

I stayed only one night, but everything was great.
The location is just 2 minuted from city center, the bed were good. There was kitchen with kettle and facilities. Toilet and bathroom were clean. I forgot my jacket in the wardrobe and when came back in the evening to collect my bags from the storage room, cleaner found the jacket and brought it to the storage room. It was really nice!

I am an international student and I’ve been to student dorms in France and Spain, but never seen this level of cleanness.

Everything was fine.
As it's a student hostel, the accommodation is modest but absolutely excellent for a short stay and you're not expecting hotel-like comfort. Nice kitchen and washing facilities, very convenient location right by town centre.

Sometimes there seems to be a ventilation problem, and rooms/kitchen can get stuffy. O recommend that the windows are kept open before check in.

It was super warm, in other places in May they maybe stop heating but not here, we could enjoy good temperature. Good location, you can walk to the center. Very nice receptionist. Everything was clean and modern. Comfortable beds. If I would be again in Tartu, I wouldn't look for any other accomodation.

This is a student housing, but looks more like a hospital. Not cosy at all, but it is understandable. Its just a cheap place to spend the night.
This is a cheap way to spend your night while visiting Tartu. I stay there when I go to theatre, but can not get back to Tallinn with the last bus. It is cheap and functional and in the heart of city center. Very comfortable. You can get in all night long.

On a hot day, a fan would be nice.
It is located very close to the city centre. Everything is at a walking distance. The room was spacious with a big desk. The whole flat was exceptionally clean. The internet connection was great. The kitchen was well equipped. Though without a dishwasher, there was everything needed from plates to cutlery and a refrigerator. Perfect place for someone travelling for work and needs more home like environment rather than a hotel.

No hand drying facilities in the toilet room, had to remember to take a towel from the room.
Less than 10 minutes walk to the bus station. Comfortable Did have kitchen facilities in communal areas but I did not use them. Shower was a good size Supermarket just next door that opened at 9am
