How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was noisy (no sound isolation) as soon as a bus or a car passed in the street. WiFi was working slow sometimes and most of the time wasn't working at all.
The size of the room, the kindness of the host and more than anything: the laundry service which was really helpful.

Some time the WiFi goes slow
The location is not in the city center But very easy to go there by public minibus which costs 2 egp... To go from train station or city center Show this to minibus driver عايز انزل عند بنزينه التعاون بعذ ستاد اسوان To go the city center عايز انزل على الكورنيش عند الشارع الجديد The hostel is very very simple.. Just what you need to sleep and shawer.... David was super helpful with anything we wanted to do and plan. He even went as far as helping people plan for their next destination. Such a great experience in this hostel.

Nothing, it was a great experience.
David was a great help, he literally will help with whatever you need. I mean the ac was nice the hostel was comfortable and he was super helpful. He even went as far as helping people plan for their next destination. Overall I enjoyed the stay very much.

No wifi in the room, even 4G connection! it’s distant from the center of the city. (We could use bus only by 2 pounds tho)
Owner was kind and flexible. Price was good. They offered free laundry, and sometimes, free drop off and pick up to the downtown!

A bit difficult to find it - no sign!
Very nice, clean and cheap hostel, English speaking and helpful owner, delicious breakfast included tea and coffee. The owner gave me a lift to the train station for free. Bicycles and laundry service available. A short term and long term rooms' rental available.

David was amazing and provided a full day tour for us to see places around Aswan. We could not have been happier with everything. The hostel is simple and nothing fancy, but it is really enough to stay in for a comfortable bed and helpful hosts.

Disclaimer: This is not a 5-star stay, so don’t compare it as such. However, considering the price and David’s exceptional hospitality, it’s absolutely worth it. Accommodation: Good, clean, and comfortable. Moreover, David kindly upgraded our accommodation in Aswan to a whole apartment so that my family and I could stay together and enjoy privacy. This thoughtful gesture made our stay even more comfortable. Host: David is professional, transparent, polite, kind, and always helpful. He arranged the best tour deals in Aswan and Luxor and even helped us find a great stay near the Cairo airport. Additionally, he organized a Philae Temple tour and Nubian Village visit on very short notice, making our trip even more seamless. Breakfast & Dinner: David went the extra mile by providing packed traditional breakfast early in the morning for our Abu Simbel day tour and transfer to Luxor. He also included a basic dinner at no extra cost—what more can you ask for? Highly recommended!

The room was clean and tidy. The host, David was super helpful and friendly. The meals provided were delicious and filling and they provided a packed breakfast for my early 4am start to Abu Simbel. Overall the best place I have stayed in while in Egypt. Definately would recommend to all travelers and the location and cost are well worth it. 💯😍😍😍

It’s a simple place! But that is nothing to complain about.
David hostel is a dream. The rooms are very clean and spacious. It is located a little far from downtown but easy to get a cheap taxi and David was kind enough to drive us one day. The value for money is unbeatable. Most of all, David was so helpful with helping us to book onwards transportation and activities in Aswan with by far the best prices of anywhere in town. I have stayed in lots of hostels and budget hotels and this was one of my top ever experiences. Very impressed and very grateful - thank you David and family!

David and his life are amazing! Very welcoming and nice people. They arranged for us a great boat cruise on the Nile for an excellent price! Also a nice all day long trip in Luxor + baloon. I absolutely recommend David and his hostel! Best deals in Egypt can be arranged easily, Thanks to him!

Well organised clean family running hostel. David and his wife give excellent services in my stay. Great location, well worth the money. Everything was in the sort distance around them. Shops, markets, bus...etc I really recommend them for everyone.

Very bad system , closes at 11 pm open 6 am , impolite stuff Davide his salfe, no entertainments equpments even TV, you can't go out after 11 pm until 6 am.
