Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location of the inn is excellent with a lot of shops around so it is good to have a walk in the evening on the street. The staff are really kind and provided two meals for us. The price is very nice compared to other luxury hotels in downtown Cairo.

ChileThe Installations are aweful. The entrance is really ugly The elevator to the hotel was missing two doors so you have to stand really close to the only closed part of the box so you dont risk an accident. The rooms are nothing like the booking pictures, the beds and sheets looks dirty. The toilet was in the box of the shower, and they are so close that it almost seem like they want you to shower while sitting down?. The worst thing was when I openet the tap to wash my hands, and in 2 minutes I notice the whole bathroom was flooded. They said something was stuck in the sewer and they un-stuked later, so it ended up working without flooding after a while, but I was afraid it was gonna happen again so I asked for an other room, but they didnt accept. When I got there they said that they gave me an "upgrade" by changing my room to a bigger one (something that I didnt want and that they did not ask me if I wanted to), but after I complained about the room they said that they were full and could not change it, so it looked like they just changed me to a bad room cause they overbooked or something. We ended up not staying there, but they said they would not reimburse the money for the two nights we had paid in advance. The next day they did cancell the reservation (I guess that they wanted to rent the room on the second day) but only reimbursed the money for 0.5 USD (tax charges or something like that). So they probably got the double of the money for that room that night.
The only thing I enjoyed was the tea they gave me when I arrived

IndiaThe wifi could be better. Though it was being hogged by a couple of inconsiderate guests streaming videos all day.
Unbeatable location, spotless clean room and bath, extremely hospitable hosts - I couldn't ask for more! I checked in late (around 11pm) and it was a smooth process - thanks to Mr. Umar - one of the hosts. Mr. Umar is always happy to share words of wisdom from his decades of experience and I really appreciate all the food and travel tips I got from him! Mr. Ibrahim, the other host is a resourceful and energetic young man. This cool dude gave me loads of tour options (even for other cities like Aswan and Luxor), helped me exchange currency, arranged transportation. Between them and the very helpful Moustafa and Mary there's always someone at front desk, eager to assist. There's a ton to do around this area. One can walk over to the the Museum, Tahrir Square, Nasr Metro Station, Bo Bus station or the Nile in about 10 minutes. My room was surprisingly quiet considering the busy location! The railway station is about 1km away. Countless shopping and food options in the neighborhood - from touristy to very local stuff! The general vibe at the hotel is very welcoming, laid back and casual. They serve breakfast and even offered to customize it for me. There's a shared kitchen and plenty of seating in the lobby. The wifi is not the best, though it was being hogged by a few guests streaming videos all day. I found an unused wifi router in the hallway and set it up as a range extender. The hosts were immensely grateful! Made some great connections with the hosts and fellow travelers as I lounged about the lobby, sipping some of their amazing shaay :) Special mention for Ahmed - the dashing young man who drove me all around Cairo, Giza, dropped me to the train station and even invited me for a home-cooked meal! Mr. Omar and Ibrahim are ambassadors of Egyptian hospitality. They made me feel like a guest and not a customer. It was almost too good to be true! They actually convinced me to return to Egypt! I'll certainly stay again at Mr. Umar and Mr.

I definitely recommend staying here in Cairo, it's ideally located in the center. The staff is super kind, helpful and welcoming, do not hesitate if you need anything. There is an elevator and 3 shared bathrooms so largely enough for all. The place was cosy and clean.
