Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe organization at the hotel could have been better. The airport pickup I had arranged did not arrive, so I had to hire a taxi and pay significantly more. On the day of my arrival, the room I had booked was unavailable due to a bathroom issue. I was given a triple room instead, which was acceptable, and was promised that I could move to my original room once the issue was resolved. After two days, my room became available again indeed, but I was not informed in the morning to pack my suitcases in advance. Instead, they notified me while I was on my way to Giza, making it impossible for me to return in time. As a result, my room was given to someone else. It wasn't a big deal for me, but with a little bit better planning, such situations could be avoided.
The location is just perfect, close to shops, restaurants and the museum. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help with a big smile. The room was clean and had everything you need during a short stay. I really appreciate the fact that the hotel offers a complimentary breakfast consisting of local food, but when you are served the same food every day, it may become too monotonous.

PortugalTo take into consideration: - The building scared us a bit when we arrived, but everything looked better when we got to the fourth floor, - The water has little pressure. Small suggestion: - The room would gain if it had a chair so that the guests could drop clothes or items that they will use the next day.
The room was clean, - Very welcoming and kind staff, - Hotel with a great location (close to restaurants, cafes, tourist attractions), - The breakfast was enough and changed a bit everyday (which we enjoyed), - In the last day we received a goodbye note written in Portuguese which was quite a memorable moment.

United StatesNot all rooms are equal. But you can move rooms on later nights, as needed. Shower drain has some issues that can't seem to be fixed.
Located in downtown Cairo, in the middle of all the action, in a historic building. Not all rooms are equal, so be sure and check your room before check-in, or change your room to better room, as your stay progresses.

United KingdomIt can get noisey at times especially in the night. The entrance to the hotel was not clearly sign posted. The entrance to the building could do with some work.
It was private and no one bothered you. Those on reception were very friendly and helpful especially when we arrived late as our plane was delayed, they were able to get us a substantial meal.

United KingdomThe bed and pillows are quite hard making a good night’s sleep difficult (the hotel is on a very busy road with car horns going long in to the night).
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in downtown Cairo means you quickly discover the feel of the city. There are lots of shops, places to eat and ATMs nearby. The hotel provides trips at a reasonable rate.

ItalyThe bathroom was a bit awkward and there were some very sharp screws poking through the door frame. Slightly below average breakfast. Beware of the temperamental lift!
Excellent location close to many restaurants. The din outside eventually dies down. Friendly and accommodating night managers who kindly brought tea to the room and offered free water. Nice balcony. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomNothing in the hotels control. Streets are very noisy and could be heard from the room which was no surprise and expected as the streets are noisy everywhere!
Hotel was lovely once we found it (tucked away). Room was of good size, we had booked one with a balcony. Breakfast was good and we had the choice of having it in our room or the dining room. Location was great and staff were great and bed was comfy.

United KingdomThe outside noise in the night!
I liked the location as it was in downtown Cairo. I really liked the friendly and approachable staff. In particular, Kerolas, Mina and Nariman. Kerolos was really helpful and kind. He helped me navigate through Khan Khalil Market. And also arranged a tour for me. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Cairo next time.

NetherlandsThe windows in the room could not close completely, the air-conditioning could only work on high fan and low temperature which was a bit too cold for me. The lift was not working always due to people not completely shutting the doors (which is clearly mentioned).
The staff, the price, the location. The staff realy tried their best to make this a good stay. I was very happy with the staff.

PortugalIf you’re a light sleeper, I don’t recommend coming here! The building itself is very old and not the cleanest. We booked a tour to see the pyramids with the hotel. There were two things we did not like. First, after the Pyramids, the tour guide took us to a ‘famous perfume shop’, which is a cave-like shop where they demonstrate 10+ perfumes and you end up feeling pressured to buy something. When we got home, the perfume was much lighter in scent that what was sold to us at the shop. Secondly, we only payed to visit the Giza Pyramids, and the tour guide told us ‘Saqqara is also included!’. We were very surprised by this, however, when the time came to visit saqqara, he said that the hotel just called him and told him it’s not included and that we could pay extra to visit. Mind you, we were already on the way! We said no, and got driven back to the hotel. I don’t know if this was a honest mistake or an attempt to make us spend money!
The place is located in Downtown Cairo, on a very busy street that doesn’t sleep. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast is simple but filling and tasteful, it does the job! You can exchange euros or dollars at the reception for the exact exchange rate (no fees), which is great.
