Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe access involves a small street, which may scare some, and the stairs are quite dirty, but the hotel is very safe, hidden behind protective doors.
Great hotel in itself, great staff, high security and clean.

PolandIt's located in an old Cairo tenement house, so the gate, corridor and elevator look terrible, but most buildings in Cairo city center look like. You may probably feel a little uncomfortable, if you would back to hotel at night. Lift does't work. But the hotel on the second floor is in another world: stylish. The staff is very helpful 24/7. Rooms are clean (we stayed twice), are already renovated, air-condition was new too.

TaiwanThe stairs to the hotel were kinda scary at first, but I guess this is not their responsibility.
I think this is the best hotel we stayed at during my time in Egypt. No hassle, no harassment to trick travelers, no being treated like a tourist. The staff are friendly and sincere, especially Ali, who is very nice and kind to help us just like a friend. The location is superb. The room is clean, and the bed is comfy.

SwedenThe hotel is on the 3rd floor and it don’t have lift/elevator, the stairs are very long and rounded not like normal stairs and it’s very tiring. The entrance of the building it looks scary and it looks like an abandoned building no lights very dusty, cats everywhere and trash on the stairs and entrance of the building of the hotel. It took me 30 minutes to find the hotel because it didn’t have a hotel names in the streets or the building. But you gonna. Find a very old sign inside of the building it’s says the name of the building. ( If you have elderly, babies, sick people on people with asma) I don’t recommend.
The staff is good, rooms are clean. The beds are clean.

EgyptGuys you have more care & clean entrance and downstairs floors, please
Delightful location with a rich historical ambiance. It would be wonderful to learn more about the building's history; unfortunately, no one I've asked seems to have that information. The staff, particularly the receptionist Islam, was incredibly helpful. He handled all our requests with utmost care and professionalism.

HungaryThe only drawback is that it could get noisy during the night, especially if the room happens to be at the first (3rd) floor. We had to notify the partying people that we would like to sleep at 2 am in the morning.

BoliviaThis hotel is located right in downtown Cairo, the area is busy with a lot of stores and food options around. The location on Google maps is not correct, the entrance is in an alley. You have to go up 3 floors to get to the hotel. The first two floors of the building are very dirty and not very inviting, however when you arrive to the hotel everything is clean and modern. There is no working elevator. The bed was comfortable and the shower works with an electric boiler which you have to plug. Note that the boiler needs some time to fill up before you can have a warm shower. Staff (Islam) is friendly and helpful. Breakfast and towels are not provided. Overall an Ok options for 1 night in Cairo.

NetherlandsThere are three stairs to climb, which is okay, but with heavy luggage a bit tough when you arrive already a bit tired. The elevator is very antique and doesn’t work.
Very friendly and helpful staff, they created a very safe, easy going and sympathetic atmosphere in dealing with us. Our room was the family suite which was really spacious, very pleasant. The hotel is good looking with pretty eastern style hallways. The location is perfect, so close to the metro line, the Egyptian museum, the Nile itself, in a very lively area with many shops and restaurants.
