Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. It would be nice to have a mirror in the bedroom so that multiple people can get ready at once. I appreciate them accommodating us with our laundry. Loved the rooftop especially for the delicious breakfast.

CanadaWe liked everything but would have brought our own coffee as they didn’t always have it. They have a kettle that guests can use outside of the bedrooms.
Hamada and his family are helpful and relaxed hosts. The property is clean and has a wonderful view on the leas busy side of the island. The food was delicious and nourishing. We felt totally welcome and at ease in the guesthouse. It was a great relief from the business in the other parts of Egypt. There were no extra costs no pressure sales and Hamada made bookings including getting a private car and a boat ride clear and easy. We enjoyed walking through the little trails of the village to other nearby cafes, restaurants and ruins.

SingaporeThe stay was perfect. The owners are super kind and very accommodating. They waited for us until 1am as we had late check-in. They gave us breakfast in small bags at 4am as we had a tour with an early pick-up. They called our guide to help with the pick-up of a tour. And they brought us to the other side of the river with their boat at 6am so that we don't have to cross the island with our luggage. These people are gold and will make sure that your stay there will be memorable!

TurkeyThe only downside was that our room didn’t have a proper window. There was a small one, but it opened into the corridor where the room doors were located. This meant that no fresh air could enter, which was a shame because the island had such a lovely breeze. Also, when we opened the window, we could hear everything from the corridor, and anyone outside could hear us as well, so we had to be mindful of noise.
The hospitality at this hotel was exceptional. Since the hotel is on an island, we informed them of our late arrival, and the owner personally picked us up from the ferry dock, even carrying our luggage. The room was clean and compact, with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was also clean, and there was hot water. The hotel had a beautiful terrace where they prepared breakfast at our requested time. When we wanted to visit the Botanical Garden, the owner’s son took us there by boat for a reasonable hourly fee. After exploring, we decided to visit Nubian Village, and once again, the hotel’s boat transported us. The boat ride on the Nile was magical, especially when they turned off the motor so we could listen to the birds. When we wanted to visit Philae, they arranged everything seamlessly. Since we couldn’t cross the dam by boat, they dropped us off on the mainland, where their partnered taxi driver was waiting for us. He was incredibly kind and talkative. From there, we took a boat named "Büşra" (which happens to be my name!) to Philae. The boat owner had pre-purchased our tickets, allowing us easy entry. After our tour, the taxi driver picked us up again, and we asked for a restaurant recommendation. He suggested Mekka Restaurant, where we had an excellent meal. In the evening, we explored the market and called the hotel owner, who sent a boat to pick us up. Their assistance in making transportation so smooth was truly valuable. On our last day, they allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel while we explored the city. Before our flight, the owner’s son brought our luggage to the ferry dock, and their partnered taxi driver took us to the airport. He was so kind that he even shared his own food with us. The hotel’s architecture, interior design, and overall ambiance were beautiful. They even made a special tea for us.

New ZealandWe had a wonderful stay! The house was beautifully decorated and the view from the terrace was beautiful and peaceful. It's just a few mins walk to the ferry pier. The owner even picked us up and drop us off at the ferry terminal with his motor boat which was very kind.

We loved everything about our stay here. It was clean and comfortable. And the host was super helpful. It was an amazing experience to use the boat to reach our hotel in the midde of the Nile. It takes only a few minutes and it’s totally worth it.

If you’re visiting Aswan, look no further than Labib Guest House. This place is more than just a stay—it’s an experience of true Egyptian hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Mr. Hamada and his family treated us like their own. His wife’s home-cooked meals were some of the best we had in Egypt, and he and his sons personally took care of our boat rides to and from the port, making everything effortless. What truly sets Labib Guest House apart is Mr. Hamada’s honesty and dedication. Unlike our experience in Cairo, where we often felt like tourists were taken advantage of, Mr. Hamada arranged our tours with complete transparency, ensuring we saw exactly what we wanted at very fair prices. His deep knowledge of the area made our excursions even more special. The guest house itself is perfectly located, offering breathtaking rooftop views of the Nile and the desert - a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Every evening, we had heartfelt conversations with Mr. Hamada, making us feel like we were staying with family rather than just in a guest house. Even the taxi drivers he arranged were friendly and trustworthy. Aswan is already a stunning destination, but staying at Labib Guest House made it unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be genuinely cared for, enjoy delicious food, and experience Egypt through the eyes of kind and honest locals, this is the place to be. We wish we could have stayed longer, and we will definitely be back. Don’t hesitate - book this place, arrange your tours with them and make your trip to Aswan truly special!

EgyptBe careful while booking, some rooms only have a window on the shared corridor, if you want a window to outside, choose a room with a "view" :)

FranceThe bathroom is a little cramped with an open shower - an extra shelf would have been appreciated, but manageable all the same.
From the traditional boat ferry to the island run by the sons, Ahmed offering us a minty green welcome drink, to his wife serving us a delicious breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the river, we thoroughly enjoyed a multiple night stay at this family operated guesthouse.

PeruI had a perfect stay until the man of the hostel pushed me to right a review right in front of him. He kept repeating this several times even when I said I will do it later. Once is enough to remind people, my friend. No need to be pushy when you know you’re do your best.
This is a modest but nice stay. You require to walk through the narrow and intricate streets of the nubian village to get there from the main port which was the nicest thing to do! Eman is the sweetest host! She was so kind to make me food very late at night when I arrived and always a nice, calm spirit. Thank you Eman!

EgyptReally no complaints
Absolutely outstanding! This is a multi-storey house on Elephantine Island, Nubian style, where the host - Hamada and his family - live on the ground floor. There are multiple rooms for guests throughout the building. Breakfast is provided on the rooftop each morning, and there are views of the Aga Khan III Mausoleom directly opposite, as well as lovely views of the sand cliffs that lift up from the Nile. It's peaceful, it's beautiful, and it's away from the hustle and bustle of the Aswan side of the island. Hamada and his family are lovely! Hamada himself contacted me to arrange pickup from the ferry wharf even before we arrived, and transported us and our luggage to his home. During our stay, he helped us arrange transport to the wharf to get to Philae Temple, took us to Kitchener Island and the nearby dock for Tombs Of The Nobles on his motorboat, and made sure we got to the train station on time. The rooms are cosy, with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. The public ferry is 15 minutes walk from the guesthouse (it operates 6am - 12 midnight every day), and the island itself is fun to explore with multiple convenience stores and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Labib House!

welcome drink - lovely homemade juice. the room was the best we saw in Egypt through 14 day of traveling. Yet ..... Unfortunately no place to put our stuff, no chair, table or shelves in the room, so everything you have to put on the floor.
