United Statesthe rooftop area would be great if there was more shade created - difficult to be there during the daytime as the sun is intense. (and though it is outdoors - there was no way to escape the ever-present cloud of cigarette smoke) no real tourist information available from the staff (bus schedules or onward travel advice) and a general lack of interest in helping travelers (other than booking diving trips with their company) Some super nice people working there....but, overall = a disappointing hostel....
There was a nice backpacker vibe - great chatting with other travelers

ItalyThe kinda-stray dog chase me down the stairs and almost made me break a leg, he is just a nasty animal and was after me the whole time, making me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. When told the staff they would just shoo him but not a permanent solution since always came back. Awful experience since i am also afraid of dogs. Salty water from taps.

South Korea한국에서 오신 분들은 다른 다이브 센터 이용하시길 강력 추천드려요.. 좋은 강사, 좋은 다이브 센터 다합에 많이 있더라구요.. 여기 최악.. I recommend this hostel but absolutely not dive center. Here’s thing i experienced in this dive center. 1. Price : much higher than other dive centers in dahab. - You can probably find better option around the city. there are so many other dive centers. 2. Staff : Disrespectful for me A. The manager canceled my scheduled diving and rearrange my instructor to another lesson for a reason that my body condition was not good enough. - On day 2, i had to tell the instructor i need a day to take a rest and want to proceed my course tomorrow, - Even though i felt so bad on the Day 2, the manager and instructor didn’t check my body condition on after tomorrow of Day2 and canceled my scheduled on their own. B. Dive center staff knew i don’t have enough time staying in Dahab, but ignored my schedule. C. So i couldn’t finish the open diver course and get a only few amount of lesson fee; got refund 120 $ from 320$ 3. Instructor : He is good person as a human for himself, but was not good instructor for me. He seems doesn’t respect everyone has a first time of diving. He pushed me so hard to do diving skill under the sea and never wait for me to get used to water. 4. Not PADI, but SSI (?) : When i applied for a open diver course and wanted PADI course, they recommended me SSI course, not PADI and push a little bit to do so It’s been 9 yrs since i started traveling by myself and I’ve been to 27 countries and 102 cities so far and gone through so many things during traveling. But i gotta say this here. All those things i had experienced this dive center are very weird and can’t understand even now i just came back to my country.
Title : Perhaps quite decent hostel in dahab, but worst dive center. As to Hostel, 1. Location : Very good, close to the main bizarre (5 mins by walking) 2. Wifi : not good enough (only available on 3rd floor) - there are all the rooms only at 2nd floor 3. Staffs : all the staffs are kind and friendly. 4. Price : reasonable. worth to stay here 5. Roof top : Very chillin and good space where you can meet many traveller from each other countries.

IndiaThere is a major issue of hygiene and cleanliness. There are just 3 toilets for all the hostlites and they are in extremely unclean condition. the beds are saggy because of usage and very uncomfortable to sleep. even a slight movement creates a rattling sound since the beds are bunk beds. I think the hostel was great before but due to usage the property needs serious maintenance. I had to cancel my entire booking for the next few days just by seeing the hostels condition.

United KingdomThe check-in process was almost nonexistent. Would had been better to have more of an explanation of the location and what you can do/best places to eat like other hostels do.
This place came highly recommended by word of mouth travellers I met along the way. The breakfast was fantastic and location was close to everything. If you like extremely minimal this is the hostel for you.

South AfricaOne of the owners , who was managing on the day (he also manages Octopus Hostel) didn’t even look me in the eye since I had requested from the Front Desk guy that I would like to take a diving course with them and I don’t think he gave the front desk guy permission to assist me. He is probably racist because I was the only black person booked at the hostel (this is my thoughts) because what other reason does he have not to be polite to me but his VERY Polite to everyone else. If you are African/ Black booking this place - please be highly aware of some of the subtle racism you’ll face from the Manager at Octopus Hostel who also sometimes manages this Hostel.

PortugalThe place had no hairdryer, they provide towels not fir free and in my room the termic isolation was not the best, so it was quite warm, even with the AC always turned ON.
Best place in Dahab! I had a great time there, the staff was very friendly and helpfull, they also organize expeditions to the surroundings (I took the one that climbed the mount of st Catherine during the night - transport and guide included), the breakfast was good as well. Best place to meet people, they have quite an open and cosy atmosphere, and in the rooftop I had the possibility of meeting many people, on sunday we even had a party there. Place to return when I go back to Dahab for sure!

Netherlandsstaff can be pushy to make you go diving with them even though they are more expensive than others, their tours are more expensive than other local agencies too, bathrooms were always dirty, bedrooms had doors that open and close way too loudly, it’s also an expensive hostel

United StatesThe cheapest room's thin walls made sleep hard, no privacy curtain either. Could have been cleaner. Travelers often work in exchange for a free stay act lazy and don't care to help. Seemed relatively expensive for a dorm, especially considering you can get your own room in town for barely more cost.
