Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgFirst of all, and I'm really sorry to say this, because the staff was indeed really nice and helpful, I think that the level of cleanliness of the room could be improved, from the room itself to the bathroom. There were quite a lot of ants and a couple of other insects in the bathroom, and we indeed found one of those insect repellent small boxes under the bed. Be aware that the bathroom door (at least that of our room) doesn't close completely and it's transparent-opaque, so I suggest you book this location only if you have a good level of intimacy with your partner :-) By night, if you have to go to the toilet, don't turn on the light, as it will automatically turn on the light over the sink, which is in the room. All in all, a really bad design. The sound-proofing is almost non-existent and you can easily hear people outside the room and in the other rooms. The common area is very limited and we found people eating their breakfast on the shelf where the cups (which were not always clean) and the rest of things were stored, as there are some stools to do that. Not very hygienic, even before the pandemic. Unfortunately, there is no recycling of paper, plastic or aluminum, and everything goes in the same bin. We booked this location almost as a last-minute choice and for a period of the year when Valencia is basically full, so we didn't expect much, but the price paid was at least double the amount we would have been ready to pay for such a room in normal circumstances.
The location is, in my opinion, very good, especially in a very busy period like the one of Las Fallas. It's quite outside the very center of the city, but the bus stop to the center is 3 minutes away (walking), the underground station is 5 minutes away (walking) and there is a convenient parking 8-10 minutes away (walking) at the university (Residencia Universitaria Resa Damià Bonet, better book in advance, reasonable price). If you're by car, you can exit the city easily from there. The place and the area are totally safe and quiet (outside of the Las Fallas period). The staff is very nice and helpful, and it's a plus in this kind of establishment. A limited complimentary selection of coffees, teas and snacks is available in the common area.

SpainThe en-suite bathroom was tiny and it was impossible not to get water on the floor. The room itself (number 7) was so much smaller than on my previous stay when I was by myself (in number 5). It felt very cramped for two people and the bed is right up against the wall reducing the comfort level for one occupant. Hot water took a ridiculous amount of time to come through resulting in an embarrassing waste of a precious resource. Considering it was a lot more expensive on this stay too, it wasn't totally satisfactory.
The hotel was fine, but not as good as last time I stayed there.

United KingdomCons: Walls are paper thin, can hear people on corridor and next room. Not for light sleepers. And extra lock inside that i can lock would have been making me more safe during the night.
Pros:Great location and links to city and beach. Helpful staff. Aircon. .

United KingdomNo food, no coffee, no facilities, no breakfast. Very small room, infinitely tiny and old tv. Very overpriced for such a basic thing. Not at all worth the cost when you can get a proper hotel for similar costs. Heck, there wasnt even any mugs or cultlery or plates so even bringing in food was impossible. And with no fridge either even your own water bottles go warm in a matter of minutes.
Good aircon unit and showers (although the loo was outside the room via a locked room down the cooridor which is inconvenient). The room can be cleaned each day if you leave the green sign up..

CanadaFirst of all this HOSTEL is advertised as hotel on booking.com, the room and bathroom was extremely small, no warm/hot water. Horrible walls and door, we were able to hear everyone talking in their rooms from our room with the door closed. Way too expensive for what it offers.

Germany- The room is very small. No privacy - the toilet is basically 0.5 meter from the bed, divided only by a sliding thin glass. - At around 1 o’clock in the night someone entered our room. Apparently they mistook the door. We got scared and woken up it made us doubt the security (you can't lock the room from the insight, there's no key).
The room was cleaned every day

NetherlandsThe bathroom, shower & sink are INSIDE your bedroom. No actual privacy - it would have been good to know, as we were just friends traveling together. Was very uncomfortable to be the two of us in that small room, with everything in it. No actual doors, just basically in the room with each other at all “private” moments. The beds were very small, but not too bad in terms of comfort. Bad pillows. Didn’t feel very clean, but manageable. Overall, I would not recommend. It’s not worth the price.
Easy to get in & out of the building; okay location; strong air conditioner
