Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs a guest of the Royal Level I was able to use different restaurants available on the grounds. However, in one of the buffets not everything was included (e.g.: soft drinks) for royal level half board guests, whist regular Barcelo half board guests were allowed free soft drinks. Strange that you pay more, and yet,get less than those who pay less.
Beautiful hotel in a good location with a good choice of restaurants and delicious food.

United KingdomThe evening entertainment was OK, but the quality was variable. Treat this hotel as a 'resort' and you will be OK, as the surrounding area is largely residential accommodation.
Great All Inclusive Hotel set in very attractive grounds and with spacious and comfortable junior suites. All food choices were good, and some were great. I appreciated the all-inclusive wine and really valued the attention being placed on minimizing single-use plastics and other associated sustainability efforts at the hotel

United KingdomWe paid €21 each one night for dinner in the normal buffet restaurant as we were not all inclusive and I do not think it was worth it. Even for one glass of wine you have to use the all inclusive bottles on the side rather than the ones from the machine, despite paying. The CrossFit is amazing and the programming is so much better than we expected but there should be an Instagram to showcase this calibre of coaching as more CrossFit athletes would go on holiday here.
Our highlights were the Royal Level facilities, the staff, the breakfast in Royal Level, the CrossFit gym, CrossFit coaches and the location. the staff were absolutely amazing in the restaurant, reception and CrossFit coaches. Also the team very kindly sent up something to acknowledge my birthday which was very thoughtful and appreciated.

NetherlandsThe Cleaning lady didn't clean the coffee mugs well everyday. There are still coffee stain on the mug everyday during my 6 days stay. Or she could just replace with fresh ones.
I enjoyed the breakfast very much. the breakfast was really nice! The hotel was renovated last year, I like the new interiors. The Stuffs are friendly.

SwitzerlandEverything was perfect
The royal level rooms are very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. The beds were one of the best I ever had in a hotel. Our room was cleaned everyday and we always had fresh towels. The option to use any of the 3 pools was fantastic and the breakfast buffet had plenty of delicious choice. The staff extremely friendly and attentive. I can't wait to be back!

PolandNothing.
Very nice and comfortable place. The rooms are large. Very nice terrace. It is a quiet place. The food is excellent. They have good wines (paid but worth to buy). The staff is very helpful and professional. The swimming pool is big. There is a lot of space around the pool. The temperature of water in the pool in May was good. Walking distance to all places. Free shuttle to beaches. Shops are near. Very good wi-fi connection (you can even have a teleconference).

IrelandFor us personally the hotels location was in a particular quiet area. This could be down to time of year etc which didn't bother us all that much because we planned a quiet and relaxing trip but If your looking for somewhere with plenty of nightlife nearby then this probably wouldn't be for you! However, because you have access to both hotels with royal level! The other hotel has live music/tribute bands on most nights if this is what your interested In🙂 All in all we would 100% return to the Barcelo Margaritas Royal Level again 😁
The hotel and grounds were exceptionally tidy and well kept! The staff were more than pleasant, and nothing was ever too much trouble 😊 Our room was super spacious and had plenty of storage and a large balcony with chairs and loungers to relax throughout the day 👌 the food was lovely and had plenty of choice! Never had a bad meal the entire stay! The royal level restaurant was 10/10 😍 the choice and availability of alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages was fantastic! To go all inclusive at the royal level is definitely worth it! The royal level pool was certainly more relaxing but was great to have the choice to enjoy activities at the other two pools on site 😊

IrelandOnly thing it would be nice to have an indoor bar area as evenings can get a bit chilly this time of year. Although you can us facilities at other hotel, it is NOT of the same standard as Royal Level.
Royal Level Brilliant, has its own proper restaurant set in gardens !! Staff are Amazing 👏 Food & drink to a high standard. Shuttle bus to beaches all day a big bonus.

CanadaAll of my issues were fairly minor: the wifi was hard to connect to in my bedroom; the pools were all quite cool - it would be nice if one was kept warmer; it would be nice if the mini golf could be used at any time.
I stayed at the Royal Level for 10 days. It is a really nice hotel overall, but two things made it stand out: the cakes at the buffet, and the CrossFit gym. I have stayed at quite a few resorts. The cakes/muffins here are next level - better than most bakeries. If you have a sweet tooth you'll be really happy! The CrossFit gym is also awesome. It's a real gym with great programming and a terrific coach!

NetherlandsThe umbrellas were difficult to put up when you’re a tiny person. Luckily the staff was very helpful.
I love the relaxed vibe in the royal level parts of the hotel. I was there in early October and there were more then enough sun loungers for everyone so no need to get up early to reserve one. The rooms were recently renovated and the bed was really comfortable. The bracelet with the chip to open the doors was amazing, just wished it would be also available to use with the safe for a complete keyless experience.
