Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainI needed to hold an online meeting and one manager asked me to use the library for such purpose. And that was great, but another manager speaking loudly in the corridors would insist to keep the library doors open - disrupting my online meetings time, I a library where I was the only guest. That incident was resolved luckily.
The stony building is amazing. Rooms and food are appropriate. Service is average and mostly kind.

FranceThe check-in. There is good, bad, and oh my God......and this was the latter. The whole process of check-in took nearly 1 hour, and nothing to do with the staff - the system itself was a failure, and what the back office had done all day....who knew......
Nice clean and organised place with plenty of normal amenities.

United KingdomNo secure motorbike parking. Now I'm not saying some tried to steal my bike but it defiantly had been moved as the disc locks were against the forks !!
We were on motorbike holiday and only used the pool which was really nice area with a bar (drinks were bit to expensive). But all was well kept and clean.

FranceThe cafeteria staff for dinner was not very professional. I couldn’t eat certain things because of my health situation and we asked to have some changes in our sandwiches. The first time they sent without any changes. We sent it back. Then they sent the sandwich with a piece of bread and 4 slices of not melted cheese. No vegetables, no sauce, nothing. Disgusting. And the lady server was angry, not smiling and in a rush
This is our second time. Love the location, services offered and rooms.

United KingdomPricey extras. We originally booked a standard villa which was meant to gave a large and small bed in the bedroom, plus a sofa bed in the lounge. There was only one large bed in the bedroom. The "villa" was actually just a rather poor bedroom, bathroom and lounge in an annexe building 400m from the main hotel. No historic ambience whatsoever. There was no wifi and no hot water so we complained and were moved to a v nice twin room in the main hotel.
Monastery building was v characterful. Spa was v good but Booking.com hadn't advised prices to access it were on top of already expensive hotel price. We also had to buy swimming caps. Breakfast was also good but for €20 so it should be.

CanadaBreakfast was inconsistent. For 20 euros, there was excellent choice and quality. However, it's one size fits all. One morning I asked the DR hostess if I could buy just coffee and a pastry. She said no. I left, then returned a few minutes later to ask for milk so I could at least use the coffee machine in my room. (No milk or even whitener in the room.) She blew me off, but then told someone to make me coffee. Unexpectedly poor guest experience for a 4 star hotel. When I told the front desk clerk of my experience, he was genuinely apologetic but did not ask if he could make it right. (I had to pay for the coffee of course.)
Extraordinary building, beautifully restored and well maintained. Great location given the surrounding region. Upgraded room was big enough, but could use an upholstered chair for reading.

United StatesThe location is quaint yet not far from Ainsa and Boltana. There are supermarkets a minute away. The hotel and its grounds are beautifully maintained. Room size is average for a standard double room with nice size bathroom. Thick and quality robes and towels. The monastery’s church can be accessed within the hotel. Be sure to take a short drive up to the tiny town, Sieste, for a panoramic view of the area from above.

United KingdomWe had half board, the menu choice was poor due to this. You are much better off choosing the main menu and paying as you go or find a restaurant locally. Some of the restaurant staff seemed miserable. The room needs some repairs, sockets and shower drain for example.
The building was really fantastic.
