The plump from the shower was not working. Water runs inside of the room when taken a shower. Internet was going up and down depending on the time.

The hotel is excellent. Perfect location. Walking distance both to the museums and the old town. Room was spotless clean. Very comfortabale beds and pillows. Breakfast was excellent. A lot of choices and good quality products

We had booked two rooms but for the first night only room was availabe so we had to share room. This kind of booking mistakes I thought had disappeared.

The breakfast was very good with a variety of options. The location is excellent close to the river, the museum and old town.

All staff surly - and unhelpful. Too “ busy” to help whatever the request. They made the hotel group one I will try to avoid from now on. There are better options

Some of the reception staff were unfriendly verging in hostile. Even the superior rooms were basic with no added luxuries. The exterior image gives the impression of fronting the river when most of it is tucked behind adjacent buildings. As a consequence most of the rooms face a messy courtyard and the windowless reception area and bar is soulless.

When we arrived, a woman was complaining at the front desk about the smell in her room. We soon realised that they were spraying the hotel with a very pungent air freshener. This may have been the reason why my wife had a very bad asthma attack during the first night. My friend also suffers from asthma and he had to use additional medication. We slept with the window wide open on the second night and had a better sleep. During our stay the hotel was completely full of tour groups, who swamped all the major facilities. The bar in the evening was understaffed resulting in a very unhappy restaurant manager having to help out in the bar. He was very agitated and in rushing to serve customers didn’t use the liquor measure resulting in short measures. When I questioned this, he topped up the glass. The regular staff were struggling to cope, but still had a pleasant demeaned. Also as a result of the overcrowding at the front desk, the reception staff at times appeared off-hand., although our experience was satisfactory. We had spent the previous night at Barceló Cáceres for €70, which was perfect. Our €126 per night stay at Bilbao was by comparison very poor value. If this hotel is to deserve a four star rating they should hire more staff to cope with the overcrowding when several tour groups are staying at the same time.

Breakfast/ restaurant room is extremely noisy. Staff clashing plates and cutlery almost gave us heart attacks. Restaurant meal one evening almost unbearable. We felt rushed and not in particularly comfortable surroundings. Tea making laborious at breakfast. Tea/ coffee should be served to the table. Extractor fan in toilet area in room did not work. Wash basin/ bathroom area poor. Maps issued poor - tiny text. Bilbao must be able to produce something better. Television in room for english speaking poor - two news channels only, one of which was Turkish. Could do with complimentary slippers in rooms because of hard floors. Staff in bar area slow.

Cleaners/ maids very good. Reception staff generally ok, but could be quicker. Good variety of food of good quality available.

An electric fault, but it was sorted out within minutes so not an issue. Great service.

They gave us a free room upgrade without asking. Amazing. The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable.

Generally, the hotel didn't correspond to a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was average. The coffee was terrible, the pastries weren't fresh, no vegetables or salads. There is no swimming pool or spa. The rooms didn't have a bidet. They didn't have double beds! So if you book one expect to get two twin beds tied together with very uncomfortable bed edges in the middle.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent.

Not acceptable to pay for a superior room and to have for the first night a room 10mq (10m2), with a very small bed, for 2 persons. If this happens, I expect from the manager of the hotel at least an excuse. They made a downgrade of our reservation and changed the room to a superior room for sec and third nights only after insisting. Moreover not acceptable a 4 star hotel not answering to few mails before the arrival, requesting infos about garage, bike rent. In general the staff of the hotel is kind and careful to the customer satisfaction, but these mistakes invalidate the good job made by all the other people in the hotel.

Excellent position, quite good breakfast. superior room is comfortable as you can expect from a 4 star hotel.
