How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Despite being a dormitory, the arrangement of the beds allowed for a proper sense of privacy. The staff were helpful and the dorm was clean and quiet.

room for three is about just for sleeping and some rest enough if your planning of spending the day seeing Madrid

A bit crowded (is a hostel I know)
Good hostel with a hotel service. Double rooms a very comfortable and with everything you need. Restaurant downstairs is a great option!

It would be better if the beds had a curtain you could pull across for privacy, but overall it was a small issue.
Kitchen facilities welcomed. Late check-in was appreciated. Overall very convenient and very sociable.

little communal space and layout of rooms don’t really encourage a lot of interaction (I don’t think it’s a negative point but you should be aware it when booking)
modern backpacker hostel, very clean, daily cleaned bathrooms, access via mobile phone / QR code, very good and reasonably priced breakfast buffet, central location and you can walk everywhere, 6 bed dorm with its own toilet and shower, locker and power outlet right at your bed.

great central location, lots of places were in a walking distance. the restaurant has great food. staff was really friendly and helpful. really liked the room design - you don't see any of your roomates while in bed, so there's no need for a curtain.

Air conditioning needs a big fix up, especially in the basement. I sat in the kitchen for a few hours to work and started getting intense headaches and nausea. In the rooms it’s fine, but still pretty dry air coming out of pretty noisy vents. Seems also like a couple of tiny details, like some door handles, soap dispensers etc need some maintenance as well. On the ground floor it’s not entirely clear to me still where the hostel ends and the Limbo bar begins, this could be indicated better.
Bastardo is always lovely. I went for a six person instead of a four person room this time, which was a bit more chaotic but totally fine after a few days. Well designed rooms, great atmosphere and good facilities like a small communal kitchen with plenty of space to store a few groceries. I had some problems with the laundry machine and staff was very patient with me and even let me use the dryer despite not having enough coins. Cute events going on always and it’s in a great part of Madrid with a metro around the corner. Great showers! Good people. Felt welcome and safe.

Not much space to storage your luggage. Also extremely loud on the weekend due to the bar right underneath the dorms. Also quite expensive.

There were not enough hangers in the room to hang the clothes. The rooms are a bit small.
We were a family of 4 people and overall we enjoyed the stay. Everything was great, the breakfast buffet was perfect, a safe -centric but quiet neighborhood really close to the metro station. We loved the atmosphere . Having said that we have to mention that this is not really a traditional hostel everybody has in mind , there is not a common- tv room or a common kitchen. This is more like a modern, vibrant place to stay for a few days in madrid. We loved it.

Would be nice to have some space to put stuff and some kind of a railing on the upper bed. Hand towels for toilets were missing
