How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I didnt like the fine sheets and in the bathroom is neccessary something to bring hygiene products to take a bath.
The breakfast was really good, but the coffee was not so good.

On the upper deck it is a bit hard to climb up ang go down Due to missing handle to support on your right hand I almost fell twice going up/ down at the beginning An extra handle for support and safety can be look at
Location was very good Near metro and gran via Staff are very welcoming Room is spacious with 2 showers and 1 toilet and with privacy I will definitely choose thus again when I return to Madrid

Staff was very friendly. i slept in a dorm with 5 Women. It was really nice, i couldn't hear much of the Others, the beds were located very good in the room!

It's a bit pricey the restaurant for budget travelers.
The staff are very good, Belen and Cristina and all really.

There was not a lock on the stairs leading up to the hotel guest rooms. This was a problem as there was at least one person that we noticed, who was not a hotel guest (not paying for a room), whom was using the roof-deck. This person was drinking a lot of alcohol, smoking, and most problematically, blasting his music/ video games so that hotel guest could hear them through their door rooms. I did report this incident and it was resolved by staff in the moment, but this person (after about a half hour of being more quiet) continued to blast his video game/ music. Eventually he was told to leave before closing hours on the porch. However, this event was still disturbing as he seemed to be there to intentionally stir up trouble and this was more concerning because this hotel is friendly for LGBTQ guest and this person who was not paying to be there may have been there to intentionally disturb people of a particular group.
I really appreciated that we were able to check in earlier than the check-in time of 15:00. The staff were very friendly and responsive if any problems came up. They were extremely helpful! Excellent team this location has.

The perfect location in the heart of the trendy neighborhood of Malasaña. They have a restaurant inside the hostel and the surroundings are full of traditional bodegas and trendy bars and eateries

There isn’t a way to keep your things super out of the way or dry in the shower besides one hook, but the shower was very clean and functional otherwise.
Very clean, comfortable rooms. Air conditioning was incredible.

If there is something I don't like is the location. The location is near the Metro station and actually very good for you to travel around the city but not for airport transfer between 0:00 - 6:00, because the metro does not operate during that time, and the bus to reach the airport is a little far. So if you arrive at Madrid or need to leave during the time, I would recommend taxi instead, because the dark street is a little unsafe for solo traveller. If you're more than one person, I think walking together to the bus stop is still ok.
Everything is perfect! The price is too good for a place to stay in the city center, not to mention that this is Madrid, the country's capital. I am sure you will not regret of booking this place.

They did not have a lot of tourist information. They rep will state to look on-line for things to do.
I like that they had a bar crawl, in which comes every night. It is not part of the hostel but I enjoyed it. I went twice to the bar crawl.

I would have preferred some privacy curtains at the beds. Also the light that are at the bed are soo bright that if you turn it on at night pretty much the whole room lights up
It’s a modern hostel with a great vibe at a good location in Madrid.

This is an excellent location. The hostel has a great vibe and there's always a buzz in the evening. The room had a great view and the rooftop area is also great. Staff are very helpful. Very happy with my stay here.

Hostel was great. Loved the design and the fact that there is a restaurant within the property made it that much better. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Location is great to public transportation and close to many shopping/dining areas.

Sometimes it was a bit hard to get the staff's attention. Also be sure to screenshot the QR code they give you for your room. It controls the elevator and all other important entry points in the hostel.
The room size and location of the hostel were fantastic. It was nice to have a place for my friend and I to relax after a long trip. Couldn't hear any noise from downstairs or the roof where we were.

The kitchen was not available and I was only notified once I checked in
The layout of the bedroom allowed for privacy and the private separate toilets and showers were great to quickly get ready in the morning. The beds were unexpectedly comfortable as well. Highlight of the hostel was the rooftop that was empty most of the time, so a great place to relax!
