Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelNeed to pay attention to bathrooms - there is black mold started... and to clean the a/c from time to time, because they're running non-stop and also have to be cleaned from dust and mold. And the problem with all hostels is knives..they're dull 🥲
From the first moment till the last one, I liked everything. The staff was very good and extremely friendly 👏🏽 The rooms are comfortable, even though there are 20+ people 😁 The bed was spacious and long enough. Next to your bed is a pretty big locker - very comfy.

NetherlandsThe bathroom would get very steamy, the ventilation was poor. So I would get sweaty every time I go into the shower room in the morning or evening when many ppl would shower. One of the hosts was extremely rude! My phone got stolen on my last day, I asked him for some help (I had to print out my plane ticket and find out the logistics of getting to the airport; without any electronic device life gets very complicated haha). He acted ''totally unbothered'', told me to go use the common room computer which wasn't working. When I asked for help with fixing the computer or let me use his, only for 10 minutes, he said he didn't have time. And I was in a hurry to catch my flight. After several attempts of asking him for help and him ignoring me, I asked one of the guests in the common room with a laptop to let me look up the information I needed. In my opinion, one of the main tasks of the host staff is to help guests with providing them with/finding information; the host's functioning in this role was beyond subpar.
The room had no windows and was very quiet. I'm a poor sleeper so I really appreciated that. Also the automatic light is turned off between 00:00 and 8:00. The common room was chill and I liked hanging out there in the evenings. The kitchen was clean.

IrelandI had a horrible experience in the 5 nights I slept, not exactly because of the hostel, but because of the people who didn't behave well; They talked loudly, laughed and made a lot of noise in the sleep room, where should it be the quietest place possible, as there are several people sleeping.
I liked the fact that there are curtains on the beds, which allows for greater privacy, the location and 24-hour reception.

Albania1)First time that I am given the bed sheets and asked to put them on the bed myself, and then remove them for the check out. So basically the bed is not ready for you once you arrive. 2) If you are claustrophobic, I don't recommend this hostel!!! The rooms are underground and it feels like a bunker. There is only one window for air and sunlight comes in. You can hear people from the other room as they are not very well separated. When the lights go off, it totally pitch dark. 3) NO BLANKET OR DOUVEE was provided. So they give you just a bed sheet, a cover and a pillow case and in case you need a blanket you need to pay for it. THIS IS CRAZY! Every hostel provides you a cover for the night.
The hostel has a great location and the social spaces are quite nice and fully equipped. The bed is big and comfortable.

IrelandNice clean hostel with a fantastic common area, well kept kitchen and cosy rooftop terrace. The bunk beds each have a reading lamp and plug socket, safe and secure lockers in the room also. Excellent shower facilities and access to laundry services. Staff were very friendly, especially the barman next door, absolute gentleman with excellent service and willing to make great conversation and spend time with the customers. Highly recommend this hostel all-round

UkraineLockers to store your luggage after the checkout or before the check in are a bit expensive, 3€ for small, 5€ for medium and 8€ for large. But it’s the only thing that I didn’t like :)
Very nice hostel, there’s a big common area and a kitchen where you can cook. The beds were comfortable and not shaking while you move. Staff was super friendly and nice. The showers and the toilets aren’t inside the room, but they are on every floor so easily accessible. There’s one small and one big hairdryer in the shower room. Renting a towel - 3€. I recommend this hostel :)

TurkeyThe toilets smell really bad, and I would not say it was the cleanest hostel I have stayed in. And ventilation sound at night was disturbing for my sleep.
The location is great, but would it be worth staying in a basement? It is questionable.

United KingdomThe dorms room light goes off after midnight until 7am and this for me personally was very difficult to navigate as I arrived at around 1am and was leaving at 6am, so my dorm was in complete darkness for the entirety of my stay. When I walked into the dorm I couldn’t see anything, and had to put my phone torch on, but that woke people up. Then opening the lockers (which are directly next to sleeping peoples heads) will also annoy other travellers. I think the best solution for this is so segregate a small dorm for late arrivals. Maybe a 6/10 bed dorm where the light is always on. It made me not spend any time in the dorm at all and I stayed in the lobby where I wasn’t allowed if you could fall to sleep, I didn’t feel like you could.

PolandI have a feeling everything in this hostel was made to make it only cheaper for it's owner. So there are showers, but to get warm water you need flush plenty of it before (and ironically we know we should save it); light in a bathroom stays on only if there is someone in the middle of it, it shuts down when you're under shower, so you need to get iut to turn it on again; there are fridges for guests but not working very well - there is constantly water on the floor in the kitchen, so you can slip and brake your leg - happened to me 3 times during a week stay; some sockets next to beds are broken - not easy to charge a mobile, mine happened to spark at night. There is also constant noise - drunk people shouting on weekends and your fellow travelers shooting the doors during the week.
Location and quite nice staff are the best things I liked about this place. It's easy to reach, close to metro, walking distance from Sagrada Familia cathedral and Arco de Triumf, so it's easy to find a nice cafateria to have a meal or a glass of wine. Lobby is closed for night, so there is no possibility of people getting drunk inside after midnight (safe). Female dorm is quite cosy, every bed has a curtain so you can have some privacy and room is quite spacious for such a big one - there is some space to change, leave your luggage if you have a big one, there are also closed lockers, so you keep your stuff safe. Every room is locked and you can inside only with a card. There is laundry and iron to use, which was super important for me. You can also ask to exchange your sheets if needed.
